Overall it was a shady operation. A rickety van picked us up about 10 minutes late. We had very little instruction on what to expect. We paddled aimlessly for about 20 minutes and returned to the van. Disappointing experience. We went on nearly a full moon so we did not see much. And that was not the problem of this trip.

It was a beautiful experience, a great adventure! My kids and I love kayaking and this trip to kayak in the bioluminescent bay was really lovely

Heavy insects. Filthy bay with extremely dangerous swamp water, could not see much bioluminescence. If you are with kids please don't waste your time to come to this island just foe this thing. We were so disappointed.

The tour was great and the travel was smooth. We got picked up in a van that took us to the bay. They kept our personal items safe while we were kayaking and has fresh water to clean our feet off when we got back. You don’t need to have kayak experience for the trip because there isn’t much paddling and the bay is quite shallow.

Trip was decent kind of short but its about all you need the fish jumping through the water and lighting it up was definitely a highlight guides were friendly

From everyone I met, I was told this experience should have been exceptional, but for us, it wasn't. There was nothing to see. After speaking with several people, I believe that we went to late at night and the moon was too high. One couple, who went with a different company even told us their late excursion was cancelled and they were told to come earlier. Our excursion was scheduled for 7pm. We were told to be at the meeting point at 7:30. We waited an additional 15 minutes or more before leaving to drive to the bay. By the time we arrived at the bay, it was nearly pitch black. The only way to see any bioluminescence, we had to splash the water. It was quite disappointing and a total waste of money. We traveled from San Juan (vacationing) and spent the night in Vieques, specifically to do this. I warn others, do some research yourself on the best time to go, so that you aren't at the mercy of the company and can make an informative decision on whether it is a good time to go. I wish I had.

The time was changed to an hour an a half earlier than reserved for. I rushed to get to the pickup location after being in contact with a rep who said they’d wait for me. I was gonna be 15-20min late because had to wait for taxi which I changed the booking time so I could make the change in time for the adventure. And they left us. Horrible experience. Very sad.

The actual kayaking was nice and I loved seeing the bioluminescence (though it was a bit short). However, we were left waiting at the pickup point for almost an hour and had trouble getting in communication with the tour company. The pickup instructions said to meet 10 minutes before start, but when no one showed up I called the company and they gave me mixed information (one person said they would be there in 3 minutes and another said they tried to pick us up 30 minutes before start time). They did eventually pick us up, but the whole process was stressful.

Staff quite rude. One person yelled when asked about possible return time. Ideally would avoid It's late in night and so need to have ride back to hotel arranged ahead Difficult to do that when times are not told

A once in a lifetime experience. Stars and the bioluminescence equally stunning. Be prepared for a crazy van ride to the spot and to get muddy.

Went on a new moon night and had a great time. Favorite part was when we stopped our kayak and could see shimmering in the water below us,

We had a great time. Our guide was helpful, made sure we all were familiar with kayaking before we boarded. The experience of watching the water light up green with each paddle of our oars was amazing. Our guide was educational and joked around a bit to make it fun for all. It was a dark night and just sliver of a moon. I would recommend them to anyone and would use them again.

Their customer service is terrible. The tour is carried out in the dark, which means you need an excellent navigator. We didn't have that. The guy would leave us and switch off his head light. Please book this tour with a different company. I saw how the other tour guides took care of their clients.

We went during a new moon on a clear, calm night. The bioluminescence was even more impressive than we anticipated! Received confirmation from the tour group via text with a different time than we scheduled. They changed the time on the day of the tour and that was the only notification we received - luckily we were able to rush through our dinner (everything on the island seems to run quite a bit slower - island time) and make it to the earlier time. Very bumpy van ride to the site, but unavoidable. The tour guide was good, gave some background information and then let us go off a little on our own for a short while. You’ll be in a kayak with one or two other people of your choosing. Don’t bring anything that can’t get wet, and plan to leave your shoes and any bags at the dock if you bring them. Very muddy walking into water to get in the kayaks and to get out, but they had water to rinse your feet before getting in the return shuttle. I wish we could have spent a little more time in the bay (the 2 hours seemed to include shuttle time and a chaotic entry/exit from the water with multiple groups going at the same time). Overall, amazing experience that I’m so happy we got to do while we were on Vieques! Highly recommended.

If you are planning a trip to Vieques, bio bay is an essential part of your trip! It is truly a once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget, worth every penny and more. Be prepared for a nighttime adventure, beautiful stargazing and the most incredible kayak ride of your life.

Do not miss this!!! I didn't really believe it till I saw it! It literally looks like Pixy dust Amazing how God made something so cool for us to see and enjoy!! Some disliked the bumpy ride ,but it was actually a fun part of the experience too as the driver braved through such a rough terrain! And of course the stars topped it all off as we Paddled in the dark. Wish I could remember the name of our guild. He did a great job with explaining some of the background and the guy helping us load into our kayaks was great too.

You'll not regret this experience. The staff were nice and friendly- adel ( not the singer) was fabulous. The boys helping us into the water were great as well.

The place is magical, and the tour guide was excellent and clear. The trip there was a bit bumpy but worthed.
