We spent so much time looking at boards outside that we had to hurry through the multiple rooms leading up to the Sistine Chapel. Each room was its own display of amazing art and history and we missed it all.

Italian taxi driver angry and upset that he was unable to find the tour meeting place that Viator provided. I noticed that many other people have commented on the website about this too. Viator needs to give a detailed map with the directions to make it easier or change the meeting place. Not happy about losing out on the experience and my money too.We booked this tour months in advance because it is very popular. Even though it was at night it was still very hot! We booked this tour months in advance because it is very popular. Even though it was at night it was still very hot! They pack a lot of people in so be prepared. Our tour guide was very knowledgable but because the rooms got so crowded and hot we had to step away several times to get air. The Sistine Chapel is amazing and worth the wait but it is at the very end of the tour. Strict dress code enforced to make sure to dress appropriately. The night tour was a little less busy than the daytime, but all the sites at the Vatican that we wanted to see were closed due to the time of day..... You couldn't see the roman statues or St Peter's.... Not worth the money, simply pay on your own and hire a private guide.

I go into every experience with an open, positive mind. If you do that, you can't possibly have a negative experience. That being said the tour guide and tour itself were excellent! Our guide seemed eager to be there, and he was very knowledgeable and funny as well. The set up at the meeting point was seamless, and there were no unexpected expenses. Yes there were other tours at the same time, but in case you didn't know, The Vatican is colossal, so you'll fit. I expect to visit Rome again and will definitely use Viator tours again
