Stop At: The Acropolis of Rhodes, Diagoridon 68, Rhodes Town 851 00 Greece

The Acropolis stood on the hill now known as Monte Smith. The green and beautifully laid out archaeological park contains the Hellenistic stadium, built in the 3rd century BC.

On the summit of the Acropolis stands the temple of Pythion Apollo, the patron deity of the city. From here there is a panoramic view of the city and the sea. The sunsets are breathtaking.

Stop At: Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, Ippoton, Rhodes Town 85100 Greece

At the end of one the most scenic Medieval streets in the world, the Street of the Knights, lies the magnificent Grand Master’s Palace of the Knights of St. John. It was built during the 14th century under the rule of Grand Master H. de Villeneuve (1319 – 1346) on the site of a 7th century Byzantine fortress. This imposing building was used as the residence of the Grand Master but functioned also as the main administrative seat of the Order and the social cultural center of the island.

Duration: 20 minutes

Pass By: Old Town Aquarium, Agiou Fanouriou 15, Rhodes Town 85100 Greece

A stroll along the seaside pedestrian walk, in the city of Rhodes, leads to the northernmost edge of the island. This is where the Hydrobiological Station of Rhodes-Aquarium is located. Housed in a building of unique architectural style, the Aquarium is the ideal place for those wishing to get acquainted with the marine wealth of the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean sea. The Aquarium has been fashioned in the form of an underwater sea cave.

Pass By: Street of the Knights, Ippoton 1-9, Rhodes Town 851 00 Greece

The street of the Knights (Odós Ippotón) is one of the highlights of the Medieval Town of Rhodos. It is a fascinating and obligatory visit for all guided tours, one of the most admired attractions in the Old Town.

Following an almost exact east to west direction, the well preserved cobble paved street uses, in part, an ancient straight road that connected the port with the Acropolis of Rhodos. The medieval road is about 600m long. Starts from the square in front of the Knights’ Hospital, the seat of Archeological Museum and leads to the Grand Master’s Palace.

Then we had 2 hours free time (!) and then half an hour walk in front of the castle and the street of the knights. M...
