Stop At: French Quarter, New Orleans, LA
In a town bearing witness to many hangovers and a place where it’s socially acceptable to drink at any time of day, it’s no surprise New Orleans has a wide range of delicious dessert-like cocktails. On this tour, we will visit one of your guide’s favorite bars and taste a drink so good you’ll forget there’s alcohol in it.
Next up, we will sample the ‘official cocktail of New Orleans’: the Sazerac. One of the first cocktails ever invented, it’s definitely tasty enough to stand the test of time. We will also touch upon the topic of how medicine influenced Sazerac and other cocktails, too.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: French Quarter, New Orleans, LA
Also on this tour, we will taste another classic New Orleans invention, while exploring some of the oldest bars and restaurants in the French Quarter. We’ll also peek into some of the courtyard oases, stunning hidden features that make these buildings special, giving well-known customers a classy room to drink in, hidden away from plain sight.
We will also visit one of the class establishments in New Orleans to try one of the city’s most esteemed drinks. You’ll learn why this drink is original and exclusive to New Orleans and can witness your expert bartender making it. After your first sip, you’ll truly understand why New Orleans has been called, “the cradle of civilized drinking.”
To conclude the tour, your guide will be happy to suggest even more great local creations so you can continue your tour of the extensive New Orleans cocktail trail.

Neil was an amazing tour guide! Full of fun and interesting facts. Cocktail choices were diverse and delicious. This was a fun walking tour that took us to a variety of bars and were not all just on Bourbon Street. 10/10 would recommend! There was some confusion in our group with one family that signed up for the tour so let me clarify: this is a WALKING tour throughout the French quarter. Think pub crawl. This is not a sit and have a flight of cocktails delivered for you to politely sip. You will have to walk, but Neil made it fun and there are plenty of stops along the way. So put on your walking shoes and get ready for a great time! This was a great experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the city and the drinking culture. I highly recommend.

Highly recommend! Our guide was ok but not that engaging. At two of our stops we had to share the cocktail. For the price of this experience I was not impressed and I don’t feel it met the standards of other urban Adventures tours I have taken.

I booked this tour for March 27th and paid via Paypal. I never received an email voucher until I emailed them days later and they said they never received my payment but sent me a voucher anyway as "an act of good faith". They did eventually inform me that they did receive my payment and all was good. Then the day of the tour I go to the designated meeting area, no tour, no tour guide. I wait a good 30 minutes before calling the number on the voucher, they tell me I cancelled the tour (obviously I didn't) and since I was the only one who booked the tour that day it was cancelled entirely. I was disappointed but I said as long as they issue me a refund, things will be fine. I wait a good two weeks and no sign of a refund, I emailed them again and they said it was "processing". It wasn't until I reported them through PayPal that I was issued my refund immediately. Needless to say I will not be doing business with Urban Adventures again.
