Well worth seeing if only for 5 minutes or so. After all where else can you see the sort of natural phenomenon that may have been instrumental in the origin of Zoroastrianism?
Great short tour to two sites out of town. Very knowledgeable guide! Easy way to take in sights outside the city.
Arif was our guide on a half-day tour to the burning mountain and temples. He was excellent. Arif was knowledgeable, informative and a lovely guy to spend time with. Very polite and professional.
The driver and his companion dropped us at the two sites and left us with local good English speaking guides

I landed in Baku without a plan and these guys saved my entire trip. I booked two tours - one for Yanardag and the other for Gobustan. My guides were Shahin and Seymur. These two guys were excellent guides. I was comfortable and well taken care of the entire trip. Communication was great. Discussions were possible cause they are locals with excellent English - both written and spoken. Highly recommended especially for solo travellers because they were excellent company!
There is nothing to watch at yanardag. only little fire below hill and ateshgah fire is artifical has little muesum to see

The guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and really keen to showcase the best of Azerbaijan. The temple complex was set out in a way that demonstrated aspects of Zoroastrianism and the fire mountain was incredible for its uniqueness.
The driver was good and also highlighted points of interest (e.g. the car rally and celebrations for VE Day).
Very quick and imformative trip to 2 interesting places. Yanar Dag - way worth of visit!!! Never seen such place in my life! ;)
Thank you
Ateshgah is a fascinating historical site. It was a Zoroastrian temple and rest stop in the Caucasus, on the historic silk road, especially for Indian travellers. Indian motifs can be seen on some of the structures. It is located on a gas field and the natural gas flames add to its intrigue. Yanar Dag is, literally, a hill on fire. There are natural gas flames all over the hill. A unique natural phenomenon. Not to be missed.
This tour is an absolute waste of money and it lasts 1hr 30 minutes maximum. Save you money and get a taxi driver to take you there and wait for you. This is the first time that i have ever had anything negative to say about tours on Viator.
I was very lucky to have Aydan as my tourguide and she really went out of her way to make this day as beautiful as it was. She picked me up at my hotel in the morning and both Ateshgah and Yanar Dag were very interesting places. Aydan has a lot of knowledge about these places and about Azerbeidzjan in general. Very intelligent, sweet girl and speaks good English. The driver was friendly, but didn't speak any English. At the end of the day he wasn't in a good mood anymore and when I tipped him he was complaining it wasn't enough and I felt very uncomfortable.. gave him way too much money. A guide like Aydan deserves a much nicer driver to work with. Thank you for everything Aydan. If I ever visit Baku again.. I will def contact you.
This is a great half day tour to explore the past history of Azerbaijan culture. The day started on time as scheduled and our tour guide though she was very young but full of knowledge for the local custom, culture and any question we asked her. The Fire Temple of Ateshgah itself has been renovated and rebuilt from the original one and the whole complex is very clean and tidy. There is a plush restaurant on site that serve the delicious Azeri cuisine.
very well trained guide, verry well informed, good english speaker, verry kind and attentive
A 4hr tour that lasted barely 2.75hr. This tour is overpriced.
A new company and a welcome addition as there are few escorted tours available.
