Musée d’Orsay Highlights: Skip-The-Line Guided Tour

Enter the stunning Beaux Arts building of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and discover a treasure chest of French art.

Housed in a former railway station, the museum contains one of the world’s best collections of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art. Skip the long lines, and enjoy expert commentary from a guide who will introduce you not only to the masterpieces but to the masters that created them.

Learn about a unique period of art history, and how it was harshly criticized in its time. See how painters, such as Monet, radically changed the way we view the world. Many of the museum’s most famous works are by Paris-based artists, and depict scenes throughout France, providing a pictorial history of the nation.

Marvel at Van Gogh’s “Starry Night over the Rhône,” and Renoir’s masterpiece “Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette,” a depiction of a typical Sunday afternoon in the Paris district of Montmarte. Discover highlights by Cezanne, Degas, Manet, and much more.

Guide brought the museum to life
We had a great tour of the museum. There is so much to see, but our guide walked us through all of the highlights. She made the large museum seem manageable.

Great guide, great tour for museum highlights.
Our guide (?Katrina) was super! Her narration of the art history kept my attention (and my 3 kids) the entire time. She was so knowledgeable and funny. Would recommend this tour but the guide is who made the tour so interesting.

Interesting highlights of the gallery with an entertaining guide.
Lilya (not sure of the spelling) was a great guide. She really knows her art history and is passionate about it. She was generous with her time and spent an extra half with us to make sure we didn't miss out on anything. After the tour was over I went back around to the paintings we saw and the experience was so much more meaningful knowing a little bit of history behind the art.

Outstanding!
Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. Without her insights, the museum tour wouldn't have been as enlightening and enjoyable. Hats off!

I can't remember the name of the guide but she was fab ! Thank you
I don't remember the name of the tour guide sadly ( I know it was the lady from East Europe who grew up in Florida ) and she was just fabulous. She made it really interactive and interesting for all ages and even for people who did not know much such as my young daughter. Thank you very much for such a memorable experience

Best tour in Paris!
Lilia was our favorite guide giving our favorite tour in Paris. My 12 year old girl and I thought Lilia was engaging and informative without once having my pre-teen say she was "boring" on our 3 hour tour.

Great tour! Highly recommended, wonderful insight into impressionism!
I really enjoyed this tour in Musee d'Orsay in Paris. Our guide, Caroline, gentle and very well-skilled with a Master in History of Arts, guided us through some of the museum's highlights, both paintings and sculptures. Great to explore the origins of the impressionist movement in the art of the 19th century and identify the beginnings of the modern era with Van Gogh's paintings that I missed when I visited the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, 5 years ago. I totally recommend the tour to everyone curious about the Impressionists, as well as European sculptors who flourished in the 19th and 20th centuries... Take some time to wander through the Musee d'Orsay, as a continuation of your visit to Le Louvre!
