The tour was tailored to have interaction with the locals, to visit the island and have water sport activities. Great experience. Thanks Ruth and our guide Archie for the wonderful experience.

Outstanding, outstanding, outstanding!!! Without ANY reservation, we can wholeheartedly recommend this tour if you are thinking of visiting the Maldives. This was our first trip to the Maldives and we came to celebrate my 35th birthday. In our 21st century age of social media, the Maldives seems to only be known for the resorts and oceanfront villas. While that is a small piece of the equation, and yes we did spend our first night in an ocean villa before starting the tour, there is sooooo much more to see, do and experience. Prior to arriving, our correspondence was with Ruth who is absolutely phenomenal. We are so appreciative of how attentive she was and made sure all of our questions were answered and concerns were addressed. Our tour guide Archie is the best. His quiet, unassuming demeanor was the perfect blend that allowed us to be curious, ask questions and learn as much as we could about the Maldivian culture. It was abundantly clear that Archie takes great pride in his country, and worked very hard to make sure that we had the experience of a lifetime. We can’t say enough good things about our experience and all of the people that we came in contact with. This was the trip and birthday of a lifetime for me!!

We had an amazing time and were so looked after by Mashi. Highly recommended other than the hotel on Mafusshi.

This tour was an awesome mix of adventure, cultural insights and loads of fun. Big thanks to Ruth who didn’t tire of our emails back and forth, always super quick to respond to every query and made sure all our requirements were met. The itinerary was nice and varied and incorporated activities like exploring the stunning islands of Hulhumale, Guraidhoo, Maafushi and Gulhi, informative walking tours and generous time for water activities. The beaches and marine life really are a sight to behold, simply breathtaking. Staying in local properties in some of the less-touristy islands and contributing positively to the community and local economy was a highlight for me. Kudos to our guide, Shark who was not only an experienced tour leader but also an amazing human being. Shark is passionate about his country and culture and his enthusiasm for promoting local tourism is inspiring. Through his lens as a local, a traveller and an artist we were able to get some cultural, social and political context of the Maldives, and a sense of appreciation for island life beyond the usual perspective from pretty pictures of fancy resorts. It was also a treat to be in the company of someone who loves being in the water as much as we do. His expertise in navigating the islands and keen sense of safety in the water meant that we found ourselves in some of the nicest locations for our snorkelling adventures. Thank you Shark for the positive vibes, great times and belly laughs, we are truly grateful. As an avid wanderer of our beautiful planet, it is important for me to support local companies who promote Sustainable and Responsible tourism, so it is encouraging to see that Secret Paradise implements community-minded business practices, including providing guests environmental awareness in the protection of the coral reefs and marine ecosystems. I was naturally delighted to have had the opportunity to participate in community-focussed conservation programs such as tree planting and observing the responsible collection and disposal of our plastic wastes throughout the duration of the tour. I am aware that Secret Paradise has other conservation programs and collaboration with NGOs and I just want to say thank you for the great work you guys! It was an absolute joy to deal with the Secret Paradise team and I would not hesitate to use them again for more beautiful island hopping hopefully in the near future.

We visited for 10 days in December 2022. Our guide was Shark and he is a knowledgeable and very good guide. We got along famously. We arrived at the airport in Male on 24 Dec and our first night we booked at the Sun Siyam Olhuveli resort. This was good because after travelling for about 20 hours we were tired. Shark met us at the airport and although our tour with Secret Paradise only started on the 25th we were met by Shark at the airport on arrival. He assisted with meeting the boat to the resort, getting a sim card for connecting and communication via whatsup as well as changing USD to Maldivian Rufiyaa. We took about USD50 per day that we were there and it was sufficient for our needs. Most places it is possible to pay with creditcards, but we always prefer to have local currency also available. Day 1: On arrival back from the Resort the next afternoon at about 17:00 Shark met us again at the airport and took us to Planktons Beach Hotel in Hlumale. After briefing us we were free to go and have dinner and we made arrangements to meet the next morning. Day 2: We went for a walking tour in Male and Shark showed us some of the local places to do shopping. After lunch we took a 2 hour ferry trip to Guraidhoo were we stayed for 3 nights. We stayed at the Guraidhoo Palm Inn. It is a very basic accomodation. The room had a fridge and aircon. There was no toiletries (soap, shampoo, bodywash). The rooms is not serviced or cleaned daily. Breakfast was served at another guesthouse. In Guraidoo we met Allie. He and Shark showed us around the island and we had dinner with a local family. It was very nice and the food were great. That evening we saw the Plankton on the beach. If you walk on it, it turns metallic blue. Day 3 started with breakfast and then we went snorkeling for the first time at the house reef. This is a way for the guide to check how comfortable you are in the water. Marius and I are used to snorkeling. Shark, I think did not really belief me when I told him I am used to swimming long distances because I am big and just came out of hospital after a major operation. I surprised him when we went snorkeling. We saw a lot of lovely fishes. The rest of the day went to swim at the bikini beach and late afternoon it was time for hedika. What a lovely tradition. Dinner was at a local restaurant. Day 4 was basically snorkeling and the evening was a bbq dinner on the beach. We saw a big school of dolphins on our way back after snorkeling. We also planted 4 trees as part of the saving the environment project that Secret Paradis is involved in. Day 5 we transferred to Mafuusi. On arrival we were advised that our accomodation was upgraded. We were supposed to sleep 2 nights in a Guesthouse and then 2 nights in a Delux Ocean View room at the Triton Prestige Hotel. The guesthouse is part of the Triton group. We were however upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi on the 6th floor of the Triton Prestige Hotel for the full 4 days of our stay there. Thank you so much for this. It was really great. After checking in at the hotel we went snorkeling at 2 different site and had lunch on a sandbank. Day six (Friday which is equivalent to our sunday, we spent swimming at the bikini beach and at the swimming pool on the 8th floor of the hotel just relaxing. Day seven we visited the island of Guhli. We saw some beautifal birds and tasted some tried fish. It tasted like biltong and is different than the dried bokkoms that we get here on the West Coast of South Africa. It is just as salty but hard. Lunch was at a guesthouse. We had red snapper fish to share and they also gave us a white snapper to taste. We did some snorkeling and Marius also tried out the jetski. The water was very shallow but we did manage to snorkel and saw a lobster under a corral. The evening there was a New Years Eve dinner and entertainment on the beach that the hotel arranged. There was also some fireworks. We could see the fireworks also on the nearby islands and resorts. Day eight we had a day off to do as we wish. The evening we had a dinner on the beach to celebrate my birthday. I even got a cake. Day nine we transferred back the afternoon to Male airport to return home. What really impressed us was the following: 1. Every island we have has a school and hospital. I had to get some eyedrops and the facilities at the hospital in Guraidhoo was top class. 2. The streets, although it is dirt road, are clean and there is no beggards. 3. It is peaceful and people seem to mind their own business. 4. We saw nobody misbehave and I think this is due to the strict policies of not allowing any alcohol on the islands. In Guiradhoo and Mafuusi there is plenty of shops to buy souvenirs as well as cooldrinks and other snacks. They take USD and local currency. Change is mainly given in local currency at the shops. The restaurants do give change in USD. Maafuusi is more focused on tourism. I did not like the beach there because it was full of coral in the shallow water. In Guraidhoo and Guhli there was sand on the bottom of water on the beaches. Weather was perfect. The last 2 days there was a bit of wind blowing. There was not much humidity. It was definitely less than the humidity on the North Coast of Kwazulu Natal here in SA. Our favorite drink was the fresh fruit juices that is available at all the restaurants. Marius loved the watermelon juice and my favorite was the pineapple juice. I would really like to thank firstly Ruth for her organising the trip. There was many emails going between us during the planning stages. Secondly for Shark being such a great guide. If possible we would like to return and see more of the Maldive. Especially the more northern islands where Shark comes form and what we heard a lot about. We really enjoyed our trip.

It's rare for me to rave that much about organized travel as a convinced solo traveler for the last 10 years, but I can honestly say that booking this particular tour with Secret Paradise was one of the best ideas I had in a long time, and it's very hard for me at the moment to keep my comment and experience short :p 12/10!! the reviews don't do justice to the service and welcome you will get, it starts way before your arrival, just a few hours after my first email reaching out to SP, I've got a contact back taking in consideration all my requirements and giving me advice on the best options, itinerary, dates, locations, things to do/not to do, and it continued on several days until my final confirmation. Even when I had an issue with my transfer and couldn't make it until 24h after my initial date, the team made it possible for me and could adjust when other agencies would have politely indicated that it's not their responsibility (wich is true), but that is just to let you know the level of involvement shown by Ruth and all the team. Once at Malé, I had the pleasure of meeting Kamey that was waiting for me and was my guide during the tour, and what a guide!! Thanks to him, I had such a wonderful stay, with the support of a funny, knowledgeable and most important respectful person, not only did he make sure that I get the best of times discovering the different islands, spotting me during snorkeling sessions, making sure I get to see the different aspects of the local life and the rich marine variety of the islands, he also made sure that I get to test the best food options! I couldn't ask for more. During the tour, we visited Guraidhoo, Maafushi and Guli in addition to the discovery of the Capital Malé, and each have its particularities with enough balance between discovering the real local habits and free time. My highlights will always be the participation to the Olive Ridley Project Seminary, meeting up with Rith and the full SP team, the magnificent Ray Manta Snorkling and the absolutely delicious diner with locals (best food ever hands down). Going back to Malé, Kamey made sure that I get my connection to the next part of my travel as well, before continuing on my own to discover other parts of the Maldives, and we meet back again 2 weeks later before my return to help me out with a last shopping trip in the local market before my return flight. I had also the pleasure to have a coffe with Ruth during the last hours of my stay, exchanging about the challenges facing the Maldives and hopes and projects for the next years. I have so much more to say but I will stop here, adding that the flexibility and understating I've got were so valuable in making this last minute trip possible, specially in a destination well known for honeymoons and as a couple destination, but thanks to SP, I can say that Maldives are much much more than what social media make it, by booking with them, not only you get the best value for money/time/experience, but you get to know wonderful people, engage in a very responsible travel approach and discover the real Maldives. So if you get to this point on my feedback, the only thing I have to add is book directly with Secret Paradise, don't hesitate, and I encourage even more solo travelers to visit the Maldives, all the reviews you see are true and even don't do the team justice. Again, Thank you Kamey and Ruth, I'm looking forward to my next stay with you!!!

Secret Paradise helped make our honeymoon dream a reality. Secret Paradise organised all our transfers between islands and made moving around the islands stress-free and smooth. We were also supplied with all the necessary info regarding Covid-19 admin pre-departure. We're grateful for Shaffaf's friendly service and for Ruth's excellent recommendations!

5/5 This turned out to be an amazing trip. The trip didn’t start out good the first island resort would not let us come after arriving at the airport in MLE due to covid this was not part of the tour we did not booked with Secret Paradise. Everything was closed but Ruth from Secret Paradise called me back and told me not to worry she was sending someone for us and she got us a room. We then went on our island hopping tour to Guraidhoo and Gulhi sadly we could not got to Maafushi due to covid. But we enjoyed our tour with the most amazing tour guide Mash that we canceled our second week at a all-inclusive and booked another week with Secret Paradise. We request that Mash continue with us. The second week we were also supposed to go to Dhigurah and Rasdhoo but we enjoyed Dhigurah so much we spent the entire week their. Mash took such great care of us we felt like celebrities. We had planned activities as well as time to our selves. I would definitely recommend Secret Paradise. Ruth always responded quickly to my emails and was so informative gave great suggestions. Mash was amazing made everything run smooth and took care of every little detail. He even surprised us with a romantic sunset dinner he made us feel like family. This was a last minute trip and I had a hard time booking what we wanted until I got a hold of Ruth at Secret Paradis. She took care of everything. You tell her what your looking to do and see and she gives you suggestions on what islands to go to. I would go thru them again for another trip to the Maladies.

We had the most incredible time with secret paradise on our recent trip to the Maldives across new year and to celebrate my 30th. I would recommend going with secret paradise to anyone I meet - our guide Kamay made our trip incredible, giving us so much confidence in the water swimming with sharks, rays and all the incredible other marine life there is to find. We had a few days after the trip on our own and we wouldn’t have had anywhere near the same confidence had we not spent time with Kamay initially teaching us everything there is to know about the ocean and what is in it. It really was a trip of a lifetime and the itinerary was absolutely perfect for anyone wanting to really understand the Maldives and the incredible sea life it offers. Absolutely 5⭐️ service and would so highly recommend this

I was hesitant to go to Maldives as I am not a "island resort" type but then I came across "Secrete Paradise" and I decided to jump in, and this us exactly what happened. The service was amazing, I discuss openly with Ruth what I liked and what not, exchange on different options and itinerary. They are so much concerned that you have the right experience in Maldives that Ruth was also checking with the competitors if something was eventually better for me. I obviously then arranged with the and with Ruth all my 2 and half weeks around the islands. Everything was super well arranged, someone was constantly in touch with me to check everything was fine (I have to say that every time I was in the water). Zaff also accompanied me shopping around Male the last day and I was lucky enough to be able to meet personally Ruth for a coffee. The company is amazing and they arranged for me an amazing trip. Will be back for more for sure.

Maldives is one of the VTL countries with Singapore hence we planned for a revisit! I found Secret Paradise Maldives on trip advisor with the great reviews. As usual, as a backpacker myself i normally contact few agents…. Probably 10 different agents this time :) Ruth was very responsive and helpful right from the beginning. Very adaptive to our plan. We visited private resort on our first trip to Maldives hence this time we decided to visit local islands. There are so many of them to choose from, but thanks god we found Secret Paradise, Ruth introduced us Dhigurah and Dhiffushi! I did my own research and instantly fell in love with both islands! Ruth was very patient and informative. She shared everything we need to know, especially travel is not easy during this pandemic time, many rules to follow. But everything was well organised and we enjoyed our 10 days holiday to the max! Hassle free! We sincerely appreciated and thanks Ruth and her teams efforts from the planning stage until the end! I dont even need to worry about anything!

I booked a private island hopping tour for mid December 2021 staying on islands in South Male atoll - Hulhumale, Guraidhoo, Maafushi and Gulhi. I was met at the airport by UB my guide who helped immediately with guidance on money exchange (with the trip including all accommodation, tours, most meals, water and transfers, I really didn't need much money) where I exchanged some dollars (make sure they're new notes and uncrumpled) to local currency. Then we took a taxi (UB organised EVERYTHING!!!!) to the accommodation for the first night. The week's trip then consisted of travelling to each of the three islands and staying 1, 2 or 3 nights on each. Every day was organised via the itinerary that was sorted in advance by Ruth via email in the weeks leading to the trip. Ruth was incredible at communicating and was so helpful that I felt complete trust in the company and, although normally a very anxious traveler, was completely at ease with everything both before and during the trip. Each day had one or two activities like snorkelling trips or tours and so had a really nice balance of being busy exploring whilst also having my own free time to roam about the island, chill on the beach etc. All the trips were fantastic and again really well organised. I saw so much wildlife whilst snorkeling whereby UB was right there pointing things out (his knowledge is incredible) including 3 types of shark, sea turtles, stingray and sooooooo many beautiful fish! Accommodation - so these were all organised too and were local guest houses on the local islands. All were really great. Spotlessly clean and just ideal for me with each having an en-suite bathroom and water provided. I had initially been wondering if i'd have to find a shop to buy bottled water but this wasn't necessary as this was provided (some provided more sustainable, glass bottles filled with their desalinated and then filtered water which was great). The beds were all large and very comfortable too. The staff at each guesthouse were super helpful too and when I had a minor issue with the shower/electricity in one room they sorted it immediately so it was no problem at all. Food - so I am a really fussy eater in that I am very picky. UB and the guesthouses were so accommodating for me and nothing was any trouble at all. All the food was great especially the fresh fish. If you are more adventurous than me (not hard) then you will thoroughly enjoy trying the local dishes as there is so much on offer. Breakfast each day was provided and had plenty of choices where all was fresh and tasty. Islands - all three islands were fantastic. Maafushi is by far the most touristy with a fair few hotels, bars, watersports centers etc and had a really chill vibe whereby wandering around in the evening was fab with live music one of the nights being a highlight. Restaurants are not expensive and drinks were good (all non alcoholic of course but lots of non alcoholic beer options). Gulhi island was tiny but really beautiful and the beach was amazing there. So Secret Paradise thank you so much for everything - it really was a perfect trip and the best 40th birthday present to myself. If you are thinking of booking a tour, I really couldn't recommend this company highly enough and personally I'm already saving up to book with them again for a trip to another atoll. The cost of my trip was so much less than a week on one of the private resort islands and I am so glad I chose to do the tour rather than the private island as I saw so much more of the Maldives, experienced so much and had such a great time.

Secret Paradise Maldives helped show me the true beauty of the Maldives beyond the all-inclusive luxury resorts on private islands. I had been planning my trip for months, but due to changing global circumstances, it kept getting postponed. Communication with Ruth was an absolute pleasure. She was transparent, honest, and punctual. Exchanging e-mails with her was the main reason I decided on booking with Secret Paradise! I decided on the South Male Island Hopping tour and absolutely loved getting to immerse myself in the local culture while also enjoying the water activities Maldives has to offer (which are usually triple the price at resorts). The itinerary had a great pace of mixing activity and leisure time. I loved being able to explore on my own and also have a guide for part of the day. My guide, Kamey, had a good understanding of the Maldivian history and his skills as a guide were best when we were in the water. He made me a better swimmer in just one afternoon and took incredible footage with my GoPro for places I couldn't reach! Ruth and her team were very thoughtful in making sure the money that I did spend went back to local people and businesses (hiring local people, using locally-owned hotels and tour operators). They are also a deeply eco-conscious company (which is apparent in the tours/activities they offer) and even provided me with a metal straw and bpa-free water carrier which was a nice touch. My late afternoon hedhika experience with Bebbe (from Save the Beach Maldives) and his assistant Irena learning about their coral and beach-saving initiatives was a highlight of my trip. Other highlights include: - Guraidhoo! Loved the pace of the island and how it was small enough to explore in a day but it had many options for dining and hotels! My favorite area was relaxing on the swinging seats by Kasimbe Cafe. The best juice on the island is at Amore. I loved my stay at Rosy Villa in room 204 which has the private balcony overlooking the street rather than into the courtyard facing all the other balconies and rooms - Maafushi! Much busier than Guraidhoo and very developed for tourism. Mas Roshi was the best juice bar in all the islands I visited (they have a special coconut papaya and coconut mango drink I had to get twice a day when I was there!) The shop is moving soon though so look up where they relocate to when you visit! Also the newly opened Triton Prestige is the only locally-owned luxury hotel overlooking the beach which had some beautiful rooms and views! Shout out to Maamuda Water Sports for an incredible first-time parasailing experience! Such a friendly, supportive team (with the most colorful parachute) and an unbelievable drone operator who took some professional footage of me floating in the air! Thank you, thank you to Ruth and Secret Paradise for sharing with me the true beauty of such an incredible island nation! I will definitely return and I will definitely reach out to Ruth again for when I explore another part of the Maldives!

After 3 relaxing days at a private resort island, we were ready for something different. The infinity pool, buffet, pampering, and fellow tourists were all fun, but we were ready to see the real Maldives. We took Secret Paradise's 7-night North Ari Island Hopping tour. WHAT WAS EXCELLENT: - good email communication with the office (Ruth). Everything was as represented or better. - dependable greetings, connections, transportation, etc. per their itinerary. - great itinerary to 3 lesser-developed inhabited atoll islands. Good balance between included activites, optional activities, and free time. Good pace of 2 nights on each island. - fantastic guide, Kokko. He was informative, kind, and fun, and did much more than the minimum. - authentic experience of local Maldivian life. Not a cushy resorty tour, just the real deal. - excellent coral, diverse colorful tropical fish, 10-20 meter visibilty underwater. SUGGESTIONS: - take the local ferry once for the experience, but it is slow and rolling. Take speedboats for longer distances. - don't be afraid of Secret Paradise's inability to accept credit cards over the internet. Wiring funds ahead was inconvenient and somewhat suspect, but everything worked honestly and transparently. - don't expect upscale dining and hotels. You are living in comfortable guesthouses and eating with the locals....fish, fish, fish. - bring your own snorkle gear for the freedom to hit the reefs anywhere anytime. - try to see whale sharks, mantas, big game fishing, and sandbanks. - spend your time on the idyllic islands, not Male or Hulhumale. THIS WAS ONE OF OUR BEST VACATIONS EVER! Thanks, Kokko, Ruth, and Secret Paradise. Jerry and Renee Hornbeak Laguna Beach, California, USA

I was hesitant to go to the Maldives because i am not a person who likes to go to resorts but more of a traveler who is interested in local culture. Once i found secret paradise i decided that i can experience what i like in the maldives. The communication via email was amazing every question was answered and i asked a lot. The tour i did was to 5 islands and sleeping on 3 my guide kokko was more like a friend then a guide. I am pretty independent so i felt we had a good balance he travled with me for 7 days and i can WhatsApp him anytime for guidance or to meet. He helped facilitate additional tours for me even a resort visit. Also the hotels they pick are uniuqe. If u want to see the real Maldives secret paradise is your best option and affordable.

When we planned our trip to the Maldives, we realized that staying on one resort island for 2 weeks will be too boring for us (regardless of how beautiful it is). Especially since there are more than 1200 islands ready to explore! We also wanted to see how locals live, learn more about the Maldivian culture. This is why we were very happy to find Island Hopping Tours offered by Secret Paradise Maldives. We opted for a 6 day (tailor made for us) Island Hopping Tour. Our experience with Secret Paradise exceeded all of our expectations from the first moment we sent an inquiry to them! Secret Paradise Sales Director Ruth was super helpful in planning our trip to the Maldives - how to incorporate the tour in our travel plans and also provided valuable tips on where to go next after we are done with our tour. The tour itinerary Ruth sent us was very detailed and helped us come prepared. We felt really welcome from the first moment we contacted Secret Paradise. Our tour guide for 6 days was Ub. We feel really lucky to have him as our guide! Besides being a super professional guide - Ub is very knowledgable, reliable and easy-going, we also think we made a new friend 🙂 He went an extra mile to accomodate for our wishes and even helped my now fiance to organize a proposal to me! We cannot recommend Secret Paradise, Ruth and Ub enough to everyone! We are already planning our next trip to the Maldives and we are sure Secret Paradise will be a part of it 🙂

Just got back from our first visit to the Maldives. Me and my husband chose to spend our honeymoon in the Maldives after we found a nice flight offer. I bought the flights and then started researching how we could organize our 2-week trip. I was so overwhelmed by the amount of information and things to do, how to choose activities, resorts and most importantly what to choose that after reading the traveler book bought from FNAC I decided to contact a local agency who could advise us better. I have found the Secret Paradise contact details in the book along with Ruth's name and contacted her via the online form on their website. She replied very quickly proposing different options. We wanted to experience the true Maldivian culture so we chose the South Male Island Hopping Tour for the first week and then Ruth helped us choose a resort for our 2nd week and we chose Olhuveli. We had the two most amazing guides taking care of us UB and Mashir. We bonded straight away, we felt like traveling with old friends and not two guides we have just met 1 day ago :) Everything was perfect: from the local guesthouses to the food, to the people on the different islands, the activities, absolutely everything. It was my first time snorkelling but UB made it a lot easier for me by explaining what I needed to do in detail and even holding my hand for the first 10-15 minutes or so (thanks UB). I must admit I absolutely love snorkelling now and I am not that scared of the water anymore. I am sure we would not have had the same experience without Ruth and her priceless guidance and the company of both Mashir and UB. Without any hesitation, I would recommend them to anyone wanting to experience the Maldives and have a perfect holiday. Also, I am sure that we will return very soon for part 2. You guys are the best. Thank you for everything.

Don't even think about anyone else. This wonderful, small, caring outfit owned by Ruth from UK will organise your adventure of a lifetime. You will enjoy the real islands, people, culture, food of the Maldives. Accommodation was traditional yet excellent on every island. I even learned to scuba dive at 65 years old. Whether young, old or in between they will cater for whatever you want. 100% recommendation.
