Ho Chi Minh City
1 - 5
Started at 7am in the morning, it is a good time to get away from the city before rush hour at 8am. Right after running out of the city, we will drive off-roads mostly through villages away from busy streets and go deeply to villages to discover the real lives of people living along the ways. We’ll be easy riding to stop by a very local Vietnamese Sandwich (Bánh Mì)/noodle (Hủ Tiếu) right in a village. The quite roads with paddy fields, dragon fruits, small canals, small ferries, etc will keep minds peaceful. We will stop for some photos with dragon fruits and video when crossing ferries with the local. Furthermore, we’ll see charming girls in “Áo Dài” (long dress), which is traditional dress and high schoolgirls’ uniform on the way back home on bicycles.
We’ll land in the town called Bến Tre at Hàm Luông River at 10a.m, one of the 7 biggest rivers of the Mekong. We board our private boat and cruise some islands along the river. After paddling a sampan along the small canal with bushy water coconuts in two banks, we will bicycle around villages with coconut gardens, plum gardens, bitter melon and cucumber field, etc. We will be back to our place to go for a pleasant lunch with local foods such as spring roll with "Elephant Ear fish" and traditional meal with rice. Before going back to our private boat to see some other places, we’ll take a “xe lôi”, a 3-wheel car, riding around the village with narrow roads before going to try some hot tea with local honey and enjoy tropical fruits. We cruise a long way along the river with bushy water coconuts trees, and stop by to see coconut processing workshop, where to learn how the locals make coconut candy and waste nothing from every parts of the coconut tree, and local brick handicraft factory if we have time. We will be back to Saigon in different way but very nice riding along the side of highway with lots of photos at 5pm.
For lunch, please specify any restrictions so we could plan accordingly and make this one trip, a great trip!
Being on motorbikes, we could readily stop whenever and virtually wherever you guys need or want to. For example one time we stopped during a local football (soccer) game and the locals invited use to put on jerseys and play with them. The locals were very welcoming and we all embraced the experience that would not have been possible otherwise.
