Overview

Learn how to make authentic Italian food from scratch during this 4/5-hours culinary experience in Milan. In the company of an expert chef, visit a market and pick up fresh ingredients. Then, head to the chef’s home kitchen to discover the secrets of Italian cooking in an intimate setting. Prepare and cook three courses including homemade pasta, then sit down with your fellow food lovers to dine on the feast you’ve created. As you eat, enjoy two glasses of fine Italian wine and finish with a rejuvenating espresso.

What to expect

You will first visit an open-air food local market with Chef Ornella, to shop for the fresh produce needed for the cooking class and get some useful tips about local seasonal veggies. Then you wil go back to the school to start cooking together, 100% hands on, a full traditional Italian meal (see sample menus hereunder). Gluten free and veg options also available, if known in advance. Then you will enjoy tasting the fruits of your labor with a nice glass of wine. At the end you will get your Italian Cooking Diploma, the recipes and a souvenir that will last a lifetime.

Sample Menu

• Pizza Margherita - Typical Italian thin crust round pizza with tomato and mozzarella cheese, nice and soft on the edges as in Naples, made from scratch.
• Tagliatelle or Pappardelle - Typical Italian homemade pasta, made100% hands on just with eggs and flour, served with a bolognaise meat sauce or a veg tomato or pesto sauce.
• Risotto milanese & Ossobuco - The best risotto in town, made with homemade broth and saffron with Ornella's family recipe, served with veal shanks and a glass of wine.
• Gnocchi - Homemade Italian soft gnocchi, made 100% hands-on with potatoes and flour (gluten free also available), served with meat or veg tomato or pesto sauce.
• Tiramisu - World renown Italian coffee and cream mascarpone cheese dessert
• Panna cotta - Italian typical creamy sweet pudding served with different toppings, we like it with raspberries

Additional information

  • For your safety, you are strongly advised to wear comfortable closed-toe shoes (no flip flops or high heels)
