What to expect
Scale the heights of Paris in Montmartre, 500 feet above the city, with breathtaking panoramic views. Discover the gems of this former little village originally outside of Paris: the beautiful Sacre Coeur church with its marble Byzantine-style domes, the former artist colony and studios where Picasso, Toulouse Lautrec, Van Gogh and Degas painted their masterpieces, the ancient windmills, the still operating vineyard that produces an annual wine, and a walk on one of the best gourmet food shop streets in Paris.
Stop At:
• Basilique du Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre, 35 Rue du Chevalier-De-La-Barre, 75018 Paris France

This was an excellent tour--very relaxed and informative at the same time. I felt like I was walking and chatting with a very knowledgeable friend. I also liked that he gave us time to stop into cafes and stores--we bought the best baguette in Paris, some great chocolate, and started the tour off with a latte at a local cafe. We went off the beaten path to walk through some quiet streets in Montmartre that I would never have seen on my own. Loved it! Highly recommend. We had an incredible tour that we felt was custom made for our interests and enjoyment. We had an incredible tour that we felt was custom made for our interests and enjoyment. There was the perfect balance of background and contemporary perspective as we strolled the streets, checked out shops, and learned about the neighborhoods and their past and present inhabitants in a thoughtful and interactive manner. I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend the afternoon and will be encouraging all my friend visiting Paris to make time for a tour with Rich!!.While this was my seventh visit to Paris, my son, his wife and my 19 year old granddaughter had, at best, a day or two prior Paris experience. While this was my seventh visit to Paris, my son, his wife and my 19 year old granddaughter had, at best, a day or two prior Paris experience. Starting seven months ahead of our planned visit, we began our “got to see/visit” list of Paris sites. I’d “met” Richard via his Eye Prefer Paris blog starting about five years ago. He and I had already exchanged emails regarding my love for Paris so when exploring our options for a tour guide for our June visit, there was absolutely no doubt in my mind who I’d choose. Others of Richard's tour guest have already commented on the specific sites they visited with Richard, but I want to let everyone know how Richard exceeded our expectations. First by showing up in a large, air conditioned Mercedes van with a driver. This allowed Richard to sit with us and share his extensive knowledge of each site visited as well as some general history of Paris. If I’d written the scrip for exactly what I wanted, there would be nothing I’d add to the actual tour fulfillment. Since my return to Atlanta, I’ve already shared Richard’s contact information with multiple friends and relatives who have plans to visit Paris. Richard gets “two thumbs up” in my book. The private tour of Montmartre and Sacre Coeur with Richard was terrific! We met at the Abbesses Metro Station - a perfect start to the tour. The private tour of Montmartre and Sacre Coeur with Richard was terrific! We met at the Abbesses Metro Station - a perfect start to the tour. We learned ffrom Richard that the beautiful entrance was designed by Hector Guimard and is only one of two remaining glass covered entrances in Paris. We then took the funicular to Sacre Coeur and enjoyed the amazing view from the top of the hill. Richard guided us through Sacre Coeur, a beautiful churchd that is definitely worth seeing. We then wandered around Place du Tertre with its quintessential Parisian cafes, shops, portrait artists - lovely! Richard shared interesting stories about Vincent Van Gogh's time in Paris as we strolled. Even though it was a rainy day we still had fun and learned so much about this fascinating district of Paris! We strongly recommend booking a Montmartre tour with Eye Prefer Paris! We visited Paris with friends and did a driving tour of Paris by car and a walking tour of Montmarte with Richard. We visited Paris with friends and did a driving tour of Paris by car and a walking tour of Montmarte with Richard. I highly recommend the driving tour early in your visit for Paris newbies (like us) as Richard gave a great overview of the city and helped us get the lay of the land. The walking tour of Montmartre did not disappoint - lots of local knowledge (those strawberries!), architecture and history. Richard also helped us with logistics on the rest of our trip including restaurant recommendations and connections to other great tour guides. Such a great host!My daughter and I recently took a quick vacation to Paris. A friend had recommended Richard and he did not disappoint. My daughter and I recently took a quick vacation to Paris. A friend had recommended Richard and he did not disappoint. Not only was he an amazing and knowledgeable tour guide, he also helped us with other details. He arranged for a private taxi to and from the airport and gave us recommendations for restaurants and shopping. This made our trip so smooth, right from the beginning. We were only able to spend one afternoon with Richard because of limited time, but we saw so much with him. We started at the Palais Royal and onto some lesser known shopping spots. We absolutely loved our time in Montmartre. As we walked the beautiful streets, Richard told us so many details about the artists who once lived there. We learned so much. We visited the beautiful Sacred Heart church which was at the highest point and enjoyed the spectacular view. My daughter is 22 years old and a fan of Emily in Paris so we were able to see the sights from the series as well. He surprised us with tasty treats as we explored. We honestly felt like we were spending the afternoon with an old friend . My husband and I are planning another trip to Paris and look forward to spending more time with Richard.
