Booked this tour mainly to ensure quick access and elevator to terraces. On day we visited, not many people, so quick access no issue anyway. But overall was good to have a very experienced guide to provide some history and interesting facts about the Cathedral. Tour started promptly and we had a tour of the interior, spending fair amount of time at the stained glass which is really impressive. Also walked around the entire interior with time to admire the details. Then up the escalator to first level of terraces. We didn't know, but then there are quite a few stairs up to reach the upper terrace level (not in tour description). That was a bit more challenging, so be aware of that. The view over Milan from the upper terrace was incredible. And you get up close to see the details on the spires and arches, and interesting to hear how many of the figures depicted there came about. Incredible work went into building this place! Also you could see where repairs were made for the WW2 bombing that damaged parts of the roof. We were able to take the elevator back down (not normally able to), rather than walk down the 150+ stairs; that was nice. Then got a tour of the archaeological area and ruins, which dated back to Roman times, and was quite interesting to hear the background on that and the early and prior Cathedral that was on the site too. Overall very good tour and guide, and well worth it if you like knowing more facts and history behind such a great place! We were greeted by our friendly Italian English-speaking guide. We were greeted by our friendly Italian English-speaking guide. We walked a short distance to the Duomo. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the building pointing out many little hidden facts and treasures about the Duomo. We proceeded to the lower level sub terrain, the archaeological site. Our guide was very thorough and explained the long history of the current ruins. We were then lead to an elevator and proceeded to the roof top. The views over the city were amazing! This was a fabulous experience I am glad that my husband and I signed up for this private tour
