Outstanding excursion guided by the most knowledgeable and friendliest tour guides Ben & Meara. The experience began the moment we entered the transportation van, as Ben provided us with interesting facts about our surroundings & pointed out wildlife, including Bald Eagles as we made our way to the lake. Once there, Meara & Ben were extremely helpful in preparing and guiding us through the adventurous canoe trip to the glacier. We are extremely grateful to both Meara & Ben for their astute geographical knowledgeable, great sense of humor and making the trip a once in a lifetime experience for my wife and I!

A big Thank You shout out to Kevin at Liquid Tour Operators. Kevin called us the morning of our Tour to inform us that the canoe trip was cancelled due to rough water. It is nice to see that a Tour Operator is more concerned about the safety of their guests versus a profit. Thank You to caring about our Family and ensuring that conditions were safe enough for the Tour. Keep on Being You!

We had a great time. Ben and Miller were our tour guides and very knowledgeable of the area. The canoe trip over to the glacier was a bit of a workout but well worth it. It was amazing to see Mendenhall Glacier up close like that. I highly recommend liquid Alaska. They were on time, friendly, knowledgeable, and provided all the gear needed to keep us warm and dry.

Ben and David were the best tour guides. They were very knowledgeable and made the trip fun. One of the very few places to be able to actually go up to the glacier and see it up close. Would definitely recommend

The Mendenhall glacier is receeding fast and this is a perfect way to see the glacier up close and learn about it at the same time. Our guides, Bryce and Alec were extremely competent, knowledgable, and also super fun to be around. Our group size was much smaller than the few other boats we saw on the water. The trip was done safely and both guides had a high level of knowledge about the glacier and also the surrounding environment which was really interesting. The canoe paddle was a refreshing bit of exercise through a beautiful lake. We stepped out on the shore near the glacier for a close-up view and walked on ground that has recently been uncovered after thousands of years buried under the glacier. This is a special trip that I would highly recommend and I would also highly recommend these two guides as well!

Despite my sore arms from rowing, I would do this tour again and again. The views of the glacier were great. I was a solo traveler and both guides, Alec and Boots took nice pictures of me. Both were super friendly and knowledgeable.

This trip was the highlight of my time in Alaska. You can't beat getting to see a glacier up close and personal. Everyone working together made the paddling easier. We had plenty of time to spend at the base of the glacier. We found lots of interesting rocks where the glacier had been just a few years ago. The guides were just as excited to be there as we were. That made the trip feel even more special. They went the extra mile to make sure we had a memorable experience.

I cannot say enough about our guides from Liquid Alaska Tours. Ben, Sarah and Kevin were informative, enthusiastic, engaging, and very personable. Communication was excellent from the time we booked until we completed our tour. Equipment was in new condition And snacks!!

Nature is an integral part of human life, as it is a space of multiple meanings. Not only does it provide infinite gifts, but it establishes itself as the only place where one is capable of rediscovering oneself. Having the opportunity to glimpse this natural wonder for me was partly exciting and at the same time sad since I will never see it again as I saw it now.

My husband & I greatly enjoyed our experience with Alec and Boots as our guides! From beginning to end, they were engaging, accommodating, communicative, organized, and punctual. My husband & I went on four different excursions during our cruise (the other three directly through our cruise operator) - but this was our favorite by far! We loved being able to get so close to the glacier and walk on the land near it! Canoeing towards the waterfall was also incredible. I’ll remember the beauty of our tour for years to come. We were initially provided with all of the extra jackets, pants, and shoes needed for canoeing before we made our way to the Mendenhall Glacier. We were also given snacks, water, and an extra bag to carry items. After canoeing, we were offered a warm beverage of cider, mocha, etc. Keep in mind that it’s about an hour of paddling to/from the glacier and there are small breaks from paddling throughout. While my husband and I are in reasonably decent shape, we still worked hard to paddle for those hours! Otherwise, it was an easy, scenic hike/walk towards the glacier where we were able to take pictures. Thanks for an unforgettable experience overall! Also special thanks to our guides for helping us capture memories with their great photography skills! :)

My friend and I were on an Alaskan Glacier cruise through Holland America and we were sorely disappointed when the HA excursion was sold out. Little did we know that was a blessing in disguise. When we happened upon the Liquid Alaska Tour of Mendenhall Glacier via canoe we had no idea that this tour would go down as our favorite of the whole trip. In fact, it turns out that they are 1 of only 2 companies that have permits to canoe out to the glacier. To say we were up close and personal would be an understatement. And as a double cherry on top, we had David and Meara as our guides and they were phenomenal! Not only did they assist in the paddling and steering of the canoe, they both had tremendous knowledge of the area, the waterfall and most importantly the glacier itself. They were super friendly and you could tell they thoroughly enjoyed what they do. I would take tours with these two (and through this company) again and again. Thank you for a on e in a lifetime experience.

This tour was such a great experience. Transportation from the docks to the lake was seamless. Boots and Alec were awesome guides. They provided great commentary about the local ecosystem, and Alaskan history. The canoeing was tiring, but was well worth it. The views of the wildlife, waterfalls, and glacier were stunning, and the hiking got us very close to the glacier for some amazing photography opportunities. I did this trip solo, so I did not know what to expect, but the whole group was awesome and super friendly. If you are by yourself, take a shot and do this tour you wont regret it. The people I met, and the conversation had was great. Snacks were provided, and the hot beverages at the end of the trip were a great way to relax at the end of an awesome adventure. Boots even provided places to visit in Juneau for food/entertainment/shopping, and they were great as well. Highly Recommend.

We booked this tour last minute as our glacier kayaking got cancelled. It turned out to be a great experience despite the on and off rain. The water was mostly calm. We get to embrace the Mandanwell glacier at a close distance, and peddling by the Nugget fall. Our guide Boots and Ben are very knowledgeable about the eco environment and the glacier. We did get sore arms the next day but it was well worth it!

Boots & Ben were awesome tour guides and we enjoyed our trip out to the glacier. The pick up/transport situation was very helpful, and overall the tour was seamless and informative. For people considering this tour I would advise that there IS a lot of paddling involved, they will make you paddle! It is not the most physically taxing thing ever, but I would not expect to just sit there and have a leisurely time either. By the time we got to the glacier I was very glad for my arms to get a break! As feedback for Liquid Alaska, I wish we had been able to walk around more once we got to the area where the glacier was. The brief walk we did was cool, but then I felt like there was too much time where we were all sort of standing around after we'd gotten pictures and stuff, I would have liked to hike more and we saw an empty canoe from a group in the same area (and never saw the people) so I am assuming that some people do hike further. Overall a highlight from our trip and I would recommend.

My wife and I were on the 3:30 tour on 9/5/23 with David & Miller. It was an awesome once in a lifetime experience. It was a wonderful sunny day, which I guess is rare, but it was most welcome. David & Miller were great guides and pretty funny an knowledgeable. I would recommend you see it while you can because it will be too far away from the lake to see soon, which is a shame.

Stopped in Juneau on a 7 day Alaska cruise. Skeptical about the pricing booking through the cruise-line and found this company on Viator. What a great time! Bryce and David were outstanding guides... we scored big-time getting the both of them. They were super-friendly and informative, and even though they've probably done the tour a hundred times, they were still enthused about the unique aspects of our particular trip. We lucked out getting a calm and non-windy day, and the waterfall was really flowing. We saw a porcupine, a seal, and a black bear. The glacier was an amazing sight. The paddle back was beautiful—foggy and eerie. Be aware this is a rigorous excursion. It's an hour paddle to the glacier, a 1 mile hike, and an hour paddle back. We were lucky to have minimal wind, but our guides said that is not usually the case. And the paddle back was very rainy. They provide rain gear and snacks, but be sure to dress warm and in layers. Also, depending on your tour group makeup, you might end up with the brunt of the paddle work. Seems like the company does its best to balance the canoe group when possible, but they can only work with who signs up. Overall, this was the highlight of our trip. Thanks to Bryce and David who made it all happen.
