I never expected to learn so much about cenotes and the different areas we went to when me and my friends booked this trip! Joe was our guide and his passion and knowledge about the ecosystems and nature was truly amazing. He took us around the lagoon (which was incredible) and made sure everyone was comfortable with the gear and swimming. He even helped me practice my Spanish skills! Overall, this trip was so awesome and I would highly recommend it. If you get Joe as a guide, be ready to learn, laugh, and have fun!The Guilds were great, the places they took us were amazing and we got a lot of info too! I'd do that again!

Important note there is very little walking necessary to enjoy this adventure. We traveled to three different snorkeling sites - 1st the lagoon - this is where the most colourful fish are. We traveled to three different snorkeling sites - 1st the lagoon - this is where the most colourful fish are. Our guide was excellent and made sure that we all saw many different fish. We saw stingrays that we likely would have missed without his guidance. He also explained to us about the meeting point of the fresh water rivers flowing into the ocean and the salt water of the lagoon - and showed us how to see the mix. 2nd came the open cenote - this water was more "refreshing" as our guide told us. In actual fact it was comparable to a fairly warm summer lake in Ontario :). What fun we had here! We used our snorkeling gear to explore the fish, but we also had a chance to jump in from the top of the cliff and to zipline into the water - I LOVED it 3rd and final stop was to a closed cenote - a cave. Here the water was somewhat more "refreshing" (read colder). The organization had placed a light within the cave that allowed us to see the stalagmites and see some of the catfish that inhabit this water. After that we were served a quick lunch of typical mexican food - and we were brought back to our hotels. A wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone who loves to swim.Joe Aranda was our guide and he made this snorkeling adventure a truly enjoyable experience. Joe Aranda was our guide and he made this snorkeling adventure a truly enjoyable experience. We traveled to three different environments: an ocean inlet where Joe's passion for his job and the environment was quite evident. He identified the different sea life as we snorkeled in a beautiful area. Next we went to an open area with a zip line and diving platform to dive into the open cenote. Joe was very encouraging and helpful. Lastly we went to the cave cenote which was awesome and Joe's explanation made us all want to spend more time there. This truly was a great adventure with a great guide!

This was a fun trip. Be aware that if you are departing from Cancun, you will have a long ride ahead of you while the van picks up other vacationers and then heads over an hour south for the activity. We started at the open cenote that has a zip line and high platform for jumping. There is a wooden ladder, if you're not quite so adventurous. All 3 snorkel locations are very cold, 72 degrees. We walked about 3 blocks to snorkel the cave, and it was really neat! This is where they take some awesome pics of your group inside. You'll probably see a few bats. Wear mosquito repellant, as the bugs will eat you alive until you get in the water. We then walked just a few steps to the screened lunch building, and had a great lunch of grilled chicken, rice, potatoes, etc. After lunch, we drove to the last location, the ocean inlet. You will have to wear fins here, but fins, masks, snorkels, and life vests are provided by the tour company. This was a great place for tons of colorful fish and neat underwater formations. I highly recommend wearing water shoes, as you will be walking on gravel and over semi/rough terrain, and it was a pain for those in sandals to keep taking them off and putting them on. It also was good to have them on in the water, as they protected our feet from rocks and things underwater.
