Machu Picchu is absolutely breathtaking. Our guide, Paul, was fantastic and very knowledgeable. It was an amazing tour made better because we were able to hear the history behind what we were seeing. Highly recommend.
The guide was very patient and informative. We arrived at 6am and couldn’t see anything because of the fog. She waited with us for two hours so that we could see Machu Picchu and take the pictures we wanted. The tour ended up taking 5 hours instead of two, and she still did not rush us at all.
We had a terrific tour with Johnny as our guide. He was very pleasant and informative and was able to perceive and adapt to our group's need for a slower pace and frequent pauses. It was perfect.
Our tour guide really knew his stuff and gave us a great tour. He also suggested we meet him a little later in the day to allow us to take a hike to the sun gate.
I just wish Viator had told me the tour guide would contact me for further instructions and to get the tickets. I had to call them the day before to see what was happening and they did not seem to know how to help. Luckily the tour guide called and the call came through.
Our tour guide was great. She met with us the night before at our hotel lobby to discuss the itinerary for the following day/. She gave us our bus tickets and machu picchu entrance tickets. Our tour guide also came back the next morning to escort us to the bus station and made sure we were seated in the bus. Our tour guide was with us from beginning to end. Providing great history and back stories during the tour. We hit every point of the tour within 3 hours at our own pace. she took looks of great photos for us. Highly recommend this tour. I wish I remembered her name, but I'm very bad at that . Overall she was amazing and knowledgeable.
We were highly satisfied with this tour experience! Our guide Hamilton met us at our hotel the evening before to give us our bus and site entry tickets and explain how the tour would go. His directions were straightforward and perfectly set our expectations for how everything would go. Hamilton was highly knowledgeable about the history of the site and provided an entertaining and informative tour. We were absolutely delighted and would gladly recommend this tour and Hamilton in particular to anyone wanting to make the trek to this world heritage site!
We had a great tour guide Marco! One of the best days of our lives being able to see Machu Picchu with a private guide who was very knowledgeable and knew the perfect places to get our photos taken for great memories of our experience. We hope you get Marco when you book this tour!
Our guide Benny was incredible! You get to see so much of the country side and her customer service was amazing! She took us all over the place to all sorts of ruins and the horses were so well taken care of and were so easy to ride! This is a must if you come to Cusco!
Awesome guide Johnny, Explained the history of the ruins and wonders of it. Highly recommend to have a guide unless you read about it before going..
Fantastic! Loved our trip and our guide was great! Met with us the night before to answer questions, check to see if we had our passports, confirm our time to enter MP, etc. Met us at 5:15 am and got our trip started--its confusing for first-timers so having our guide with us made it so much easier!
Her knowledge was excellent and we loved the tour--just breathtaking! She gave us lots of time for pictures and rest if we needed. We took a bit different path so we avoided the backlogs of tourists, and our early entry kept the hordes out of our photos!
Tour guide was very thorough with information about Macchu Picchu .All in all a great tour.Definititly would do again.
Nellie met us the night before our tour at the train station in the pouring rain. Gave us our tickets and told us where to meet the next morning. We had perfect weather the next morning for the Solstice. Nellie was very well informed and made the ruins we were seeing become even more fascinating. I highly recommend Nellie and this tour.
The company and our guide were amazing. Yawar showed up to
Our hotel the night before, explained the process, picked us up at the hotel the next morning and did great with getting us to the most picturesque places before too many other tourists arrived. Couldn’t be happier with the experience
Outstanding guide, the best ever. In depth knowledge of Machu Picchu and the Inca history. Adopted to our pace, provided real information
My fiancé and I recently had a wonderful time on this tour! Our guide Nelida exceeded all expectations! She met us at our hotel in Aguas Calientes on the evening prior to the tour to deliver our park passes, bus vouchers, and to discuss the itinerary for the following day. The morning of the tour she promptly met us back at our hotel at the agreed upon time to escort us to the busses. At the ruins site she was exceptionally knowledgeable and engaging. She gave us an interesting overview of the history of ruins and the landscape, and was able to answer all of our questions along the way. Nelida truly helped to make our visit to Machu Picchu a once in a lifetime experience! We highly recommend this service:)
Our tour guide was Hector. He has a friendly personality. He provided information about the Incas as we go on the tour and we could tell he is very passionate about it. Not just, telling us infos to tick off his list. He is also very accommodating in our photo requests. We were very happy he was our tour guide. With regards to the tour company, it would be great if they also provided an email contact so we could confirm our trip details such as the meeting place. Viator only provided a peruvian phone number to call, which can be difficult since we are from a different country. When we reached machu picchu town, we had our hotel call the tour company to confirm the meeting time.
Our met us the evening before with our tickets and information about the tour. We met at the agreed time the following day and she provided us with additional information that we would not have received if we toured on our own.
Our tour guide, Nelida, was amazing! She met with us at our hotel in Aguas Calientes the night before our tour to go over everything and came to our hotel the next morning to begin the day. She was very knowledgable and when faced with a crowd she would take us aside and show us something off of the main path. She was very polite and offered to take pictures for us, as well. My husband and I highly recommend this tour and felt it was essential to our experience at Machu Picchu.
This was perfect for us. The tour guide Louis met us at our hotel the night before our tour and gave us our bus tickets and our tickets into Macchu Picchu. We arranged when to meet the next day. She escorted us on the bus and gave us a great deal of information through out our tour. The best thing was she was very accommodating and patient with us since my husband's bad knee makes it hard for him to walk very fast.
Johnny is the BEST tour guide we've ever had. He was extremely nice and patient. He knew all the best spots and took amazing pictures. He is very passionate about Incan history and would get so excited telling us about it, which made the whole experience that much better. Our entire group loved him and would love for him to be our tour guide everywhere we go. He made sure that we got to see every part of Machu Picchu. Also, the entire process of getting from the train to the bus to Machu Picchu and back was very smooth. Johnny had all the tickets organized and there were no issues.
If you've ever dreamed of going to Machu Picchu and have been putting it off, do it! I am still high from the experience and feel privileged to have gone. After an almost 4-hour train ride from Poroy (outside of Cuzco), we arrived in Aguas Calientes and our tour guide was waiting for us with our names on a sign, easy to spot. Lissette was amazing throughout the entire private tour of the ruins. She hustled to the bus line to get us a better position and faster to the top and entrance to the site. Once inside, she was patient with us climbing to get that famous overlook view that is soon after entering. I was immediately overwhelmed and couldn't believe that after all the efforts to get there, we were actually in Machu Picchu! The site is stunning, intriguing, mysterious, scientific, fortress-like and beautiful all in one. There is so much history and significance to almost every stone, and it is much larger than it looks at first glance. Our tour guide was friendly, patient and very knowledgeable as she answered all of our questions. We never felt rushed throughout the visit and we happened to arrive at a perfect time, at the tail end of the morning entry group and before the afternoon crowds entered. Many times we had areas completely to ourselves. The entire visit was a delight and I highly recommend it with Viator.
On a side note, when they speak of altitude sickness, they are not kidding. Cuzco is a beautiful city, but challenging by its thin air. We experienced headaches, shortness of breath and even insomnia! So go prepared to take it easy there. Thank goodness, Machu Picchu is actually 3000 feet LOWER and you can enjoy it easier.
We were very happy with our experience from booking online, to getting an email confirmation, then a personal phone call at the hotel the night before to touch base, and the guide meeting us in the lobby of our hotel on time. She spoke English well and was friendly, knowledgeable, and pleasant to be around. She had everything organized and even offered several times to take pictures of us! :) It was very organized and we had a great time!
We had a great guide who gave us a terrific tour.Disappointed with Viator. No instructions on where/when to meet guide. Calling Viator was a waste of time. Finally had to ask hotel receptionist to do so. Viator needs to do a better job with directions for when/where/what time to meet up for tours.
We booked a private tour to Machu Picchu so we did not have to worry about the various pieces of the assent or miss the significance of all we were experiencing while there. Our guide Hamilton got it right on all points! He met us at the hotel to make it easy and took us to join a colleague who had been in line with his guests for already 30 minutes. The trip up was easy and swift. Once we were through the lines, Hamilton took us to a comfortable place to sit, listen and imagine Inca life. The pace of the stops was great, the information was rich, the stories were engaging, questions were answered well and humor was interjected nicely. We came to know of his life and his family. We had insights into his views as well as various
Fatema was an amazing tour guide who had so much knowledge and interesting information about Machu Picchu. She answered every one of our questions, was an excellent storyteller who kept our kids engaged, and reminded us to respect this amazing site. We wouldn't go back and change a thing, definitely worth the money!!! Thank you!
Our guide Hamilton, met us the night before to go over timings and what t bring for the next day. Having his expert knowledge in advance really helped prepare you for the day. He arrived promptly at the hotel the next day to take us to the buses, planning the day to avoid the queues. When we arrived, he took us around Machu Picchu and his knowledge and friendly attitude really helped you to enjoy the day. I can honestly say I would not have had such a good day without him!
Our guide came to our hotel to pick us up which I wasn't expecting but it was very helpful! He was very knowledgeable and professional. He told us a lot of history and very interesting things. We walked around different areas of Machu Picchu city and after we had free time to walk around too. Don't forget to bring your passport so you can get your nice stamp of Machu Picchu in it! :) Sandra C.
Our guide was amazing, if I remember correctly his name was Manuela. He even had a book with pictures, which included pictures of Machu Picchu over the years. He was the best.
This company arranged everything for us and it was simple. We had an amazing time. One thing, remember to get the Machu Picchu stamp in your passport, we didnt get it. Thank for a great experience.
Our guide, Hamilton, went beyond our expectations. He was waiting at the train station when we arrived, had tons of knowledge, was personable, and gave us the best tour we could have asked for. Then he recommended a phenomenal restaurant that everyone - adults and kids alike - enjoyed. Wonderful!
