A full day tour but car for 4 people was too small. Liked to have seen more of the old quarter and the history rather than see war remnants. Food was very nice in an old traditional house/ restaurant. Expected to see the Hanoi Hilton but not offered. Highlight of the day was sitting next to the train on train street - exhilarating and frightening in equal measures. Apart from mausoleum and Ho Chi Minhs house you could do this for free. Very political

Private tour with a driver and tour guide, Tai. Visited most major sites. One unexpected visit was the cafe along the railroad track where we sip drinks while sitting against the wall and watch a 20 car train pass us by with only inches of space to clear. Tai is knowledgeable about the history and current dynamics in the city, and he is highly energetic

I’d like to send my sincerely thanks to Tripadvisor. I had an amazing experience in Hanoi. With the informative and personalized commentary friendly guide, I got to see and do so many things in this trip. In the morning, I visited the important buildings in Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the stilt house of Ho Chi Minh president. They’re all very captivated. Next, the guide took me to the very special architecture place – One Pillar Pagoda. Then I had a chance to visit Temple of Literature with historical relics. After that, I enjoyed unique Vietnamese food, pho bo. It was extremely delicious. One more thing that was unforgettable to me is Egg Coffee. It’s a must-try drink when coming to Hanoi. In the afternoon, I explored Hoan Kiem Lake with a leisurely one-hour cyclo tour then walked into the hidden alleys of Hanoi Old Quarter to learn about local customs and Hanoian lifestyle. I will surely come back to Vietnam and definitely recommend Tripadvisor.

If you plan to travel Southeast Asian, don’t skip the Capital of Vietnam. Hanoi retains elegance and charm not often found in this part of the world, the city’s French influence is to be seen in the fine old colonial buildings and tree lined boulevards. Ah, one thing special is that there are so many motorbikes on the road, it’s quite dangerous but really unmissable to experience. It is so deniable if you don’t try traditional Vietnamese food. How delicious is it! How great is the trip! Thank you for giving me a memorable journey.

I am so overwhelming of the beauty of Hanoi. I can see both the modern of buildings, hotel and the historic of Buddhism temples, old houses and streets. Moreover, Vietnamese people are so friendly, happy and hospitable. His knowledge of the history of Hanoi was greatly appreciated and we never felt rushed. Our driver did a very good job of taking us to the sights considering the crazy traffic. Great tour, a perfect way to know Hanoi city and its history. Visit the Temple of Literature and the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, our guide is very knowledgeable and good in explaining the history of each place. Very please with transportation with full AC, because of the hot weather in Hanoi, AC is a must.
