Day 1: El Gouna Luxor
Early morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in El Gouna by a private A.C. Car to be transferred to Luxor for an overnight trip to Luxor from Hurghada. Upon arrival you will meet your private tour guide who will join you to visit:
Karnak Temple:
No site in Egypt is more impressive than Karnak. It is the largest temple complex ever built by man, and represents the combined achievement of many generations of ancient builders and pharoahs. The Temple of Karnak is actually three main temples, smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples situated on 247 acres of land.

Luxor Temple:
The Temple of Luxor was the centre of the most important festival, the festival of Opet. Built largely by Amenhotep III and Rameses II, the temple's purpose was as a setting for the rituals of the festival. The festival was to reconcile the human aspect of the ruler with the divine office.

will be served in a local restaurant, then you will check in 3 hotel, on the evening there is an optional tour to the sound and Light show in Karnak temple

Luxor to El Gouna
Breakfast at your hotel then you will be accompanied by your private tour guide and a private air-conditioned vehicle to visit: Valley of the Kings :
The final resting place of Egypt's rulers from the 18th to 20th dynasty, it is home to tombs including the great pharaoh Ramses II and boy pharaoh Tutankhamen.
he tombs were well stocked with all the material goods a ruler might need in the next world. Most of the decoration inside the tombs still well preserved.

Hatshepsut Temple:
It is one of the most beautiful & best preserved of all of the temples of Ancient Egypt. The temple was built on three levels with two wide ramps in a central position joining the levels together.
Colossi of Memnon:
Two massive stone statues of king Amenhotep III are the only remains of a complete mortuary temple.
The statues are made from blocks of quartzite sandstone which exist in Cairo then moved 700 KM to Luxor
Have your lunch on a Nile View restaurant before we drive you back to your hotel in El Gouna.

Wij,stel met zoon van 10 jaar, verbleven in een resort in El Gouna. Heel fijn maar we wilden toch ook graag iets van het ‘echte’ Egypte zien. In Nederland had ik al gekeken naar de website en recensies van excursiesegypte.nl maar nog niks geboekt. Al wel in Egypte maar een week voordat we naar L...
Wij,stel met zoon van 10 jaar, verbleven in een resort in El Gouna. Heel fijn maar we wilden toch ook graag iets van het ‘echte’ Egypte zien. In Nederland had ik al gekeken naar de website en recensies van excursiesegypte.nl maar nog niks geboekt. Al wel in Egypte maar een week voordat we naar Luxor gingen via WhatsApp contact gelegd en de mogelijkheden besproken. Ging allemaal erg soepel. We kozen voor een 2 daagse excursie, omdat we met een kind 2 x 4,5 uur rijden en het bezoeken van meerdere tempels te veel vonden voor 1 dag. We werden om 5 uur ‘s morgens keurig opgepikt door de Engelssprekende chauffeur Mohamed in een comfortabele auto met goede airco. De rit naar Luxor vond ik al prachtig, van de droge kalksteenheuvels tot de groene grasvelden met mais en bananenplanten langs het kanaal. Je waant je terug in de tijd: overal volgeladen karretjes met ezels ervoor. In Luxor wachtte Mo, onze Nederlandstalige gids op ons en reisde met ons verder. Mo is vriendelijk, netjes en weet veel te vertellen. Hij regelt alle kaartjes, toegang en dat de chauffeur de airco al heeft aan staan voordat we instappen. De tempelbezoeken aan Karnak en Luxor waren vooral in de ochtend met een vroege lunch. In de zomer is het zo heet, dat je ‘s middags echt niet in de brandende zon wil rondlopen. Nog even in het papyrusmuseum geweest, waar ze natuurlijk graag een velletje aan je slijten. Om 1 uur waren we in ons hotel om even bij te komen. Lekker gezwommen in het zwembad, afgekoeld en opgefrist. Je hoeft niks te plannen voor de avond maar we kozen ervoor om met Mo en een boot een tochtje over de Nijl te maken naar een boerderij/plantage met wat dieren en fruitbomen waar je even een drankje kan drinken. Ons zoontje vond het vooral het voeren van de aapjes leuk. Het hotel heeft een prachtig uitzicht over de Nijl en een zwembad. We hadden een prima kamer, zonder uitzicht, maar voor dir ene avond ga je niet zeuren. Gegeten hebben we bij restaurant Castello schuin tegenover het hotel: pizza en pasta, dat had zoonlief wel verdiend. Overal staan koetsjes met paard en wagen klaar om je rond te leiden ( ook langs allerlei winkeltjes dus voor duidelijk no thank you zeggen. ) wij hebben het toch gedaan omdat je zo toch wat meer van de stad ziet. Doe het wel ‘s avonds als er meer leven op straat is. Het ontbijt van het hotel was wat simpel, maar we hadden toch geen tijd om uitgebreid te tafelen. De volgende ochtend om 7 uur werden we al weer opgepikt om naar de Vallei der Koningen te gaan, zo vroeg vanwege de hitte. De graven, tempel en beelden waren indrukwekkend, maar heel fijn dat het alleen de ochtend was. Het was overal lekker rustig, maar dat schijnt het sowieso wel te zijn in de zomer. Na de lunch was het alweer tijd om terug te gaan. Wederom genoten van het uitzicht en we waren keurig voor het donker weer thuis. Ik ben erg blij dat we niet alleen hebben gesnorkeld maar ook iets van het land hebben kunnen zien. Erg tevreden met de strakke organisatie!
