Steven was an amazing tour guide! He was so knowledgeable about the loc eco-system. He filled us with facts and showed us fun specimens from the mangroves. It gave everyone a deeper appreciation for the importance of the mangroves. Kayaking was so fun and not difficult- the water was calm and we moved slowly through the channel. Manatees we’re abundant in these waters and every got an up close view of the majestic creatures. The BEST tour- DO NOT choose another tour- pricey but absolutely worth it!!

We had such a great time! Steven was an informative, friendly, and helpful guide. He provided interesting and relevant information about the estuary, mangroves, and the wildlife. The manatees were close by, which was fantastic. We went with a family of 8, including three kids. Everyone enjoyed themselves. I could have stayed all day. Highly recommend!

Enjoyable and informative two hour trip with Karen on the waters of the estuary. The commentary was informative but not constant so that we could also enjoy the peacefulness of the water. Since an estuary opens only at one end, the water was very calm. The focus of trip was really more on learning about the mangroves, various birds, dolphins and the elusive manatees than fast water or paddling a great distance. We were on the water for over two hours, could hear Karen well and enjoyed learning about the animals and landscape. We also appreciated hearing more about Hurricane Ian and how it affected people, animals and the landscape. We always appreciate a guided experience in a specialized ecosystem as we learn more/gain appreciation for something estuary just renting kayaks. I would allow extra time to get into the park to park, pay and find the canoe launch as there are three entrances into the park coming from Fort Myers. (Use the last entrance-it’s on the right side of the road-that says Beach and Kayak rental!) There is a lot to do in the park: a beautiful, untouched by development beach, some hiking trails, a Discovery Center (separate location from gift shop) open 10-3 with nice displays/restrooms, besides kayaking. We brought a cooler with food and water which allowed us to stay at the park longer. The best place to eat is at the new Discovery Center with tables and shade. It’s easier to park at discovery center, walk to pay at Gift Shop, return to Discovery Center/kayak launch and then eat right there after the kayak experience. Overall, a great trip with Karen within a beautiful park with many activities to enjoy.

We really enjoyed our paddle in the estuary with our guide Karen! She shared her extensive knowledge about the estuary as well as the animal life. Although we didn’t see manatee today, we saw many water birds, a couple of iguanas, a dolphin in the distance, and jumping mullet fish. Recommended!

We went on this excursion and were not disappointed. Our guide, Steve, was knowledgeable about the wildlife and the environment and took the time to point out several things that we might not have noticed. We got to pick if we wanted a double or two single kayaks. We did see several manatees and one came up to our kayak and hung out with us. We named him Marty. Marty was showing my husband lots of love by breathing on him and by pushing our kayak along. He came right up to us and stayed for quite a while. We moved on and learned about the mangroves and then we paddled into the Gulf. We saw several native birds and more manatees. It really was a lot of fun! I was nervous as I had never kayaked before but I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. Even kids would enjoy this. Well worth the money and time! Would do this again!!!

We did the morning kayak tour. Although it was raining just a little when we started, Within a couple minutes Karen had us seeing dolphins which helped set the tone for the rest of the day. We saw lots of dolphins, iguanas sitting in trees, beautiful tropical birds. She told us a lot about the various mangrove trees. For my wife and I waiting and hoping to see a few manatees was almost lost. Just before we were about to get out of the water, Karen did her famous manatee call and almost immediately some showed up all were overjoyed. These creatures are so docile and beautiful. Thanks again Karen for an amazing day.

We had a wonderful experience on this estuary guided tour. Our goal/hope was to see manatees and our guide Karen did not disappoint. We had many up close encounters with multiple manatees. Better yet, Karen was knowledgeable about the estuary and the animals that inhabit it. She regaled us with entertaining stories that made the trip both fun and educational. We highly recommend this activity.

I had never been kayaking before and wasn’t sure what to expect. Our guide Karen made it simple and easy to learn real quick. She is very knowledgeable on the environment and animals in the area. A very peaceful area. We saw a pelican and many other birds. We were also able to see a small manatee which was pretty cool. Would definitely recommend this relaxing and informative trip.
