A small group of 14 people, guide was a long term resident of Mykonos. He adjusted our schedule as there was a couple of big ships in that day and we went places and roads that the large coach buses couldn't go. We saw a lot of the island avoiding the large crowds of tourists.
This was a very nice tour of Corfu. We saw many highlights. The guide was very informative and provided several stops to take pictures and shop a little. All around a very good excursion!
Our tour guide was great. We did go on the boat to a blue eye cave ($10 extra). That was nice.
Wish we had a little bit more time for swimming. It was either swim or boat. Our guide let us put our feet in the water😀
We tour the island. Went to a vista point and had a little mezze (feta, dolma, olive, meat and ouzo)
Went to little artisanal shop in the hills. Then went back to visit Corfu town with some free time to shop.
After Corfu we visited several other islands and shopping in Corfu was cheaper. (Wish I had know that before going to other islands)
We had intended to book a small-group tour to Paleokastritsa but no one else wanted to go that day so it looked as if we would be unable to go either. However, the kind lady in the office told us that if we paid a supplement (which was less than a taxi would have charged us) we could have a car and a driver for four and a half hours. It sounded like good value, especially compared with the prices that cruise ships charge for shore excursions, so we opted to go ahead.
Our driver was Theo. He was smart, pleasant, a good driver and he spoke good English. We chatted with him throughout the trip. He picked us up at the harbour terminal and took us first to Paleokastritsa which is a beautiful place and one that we want to return to in the near future. He found us places on a boat trip that was about to leave to visit three lovely caves along the rocky shoreline. They were certainly worth seeing for only €10 per person. Next Theo took us high up into the mountains to a restaurant from which we could look down over the places we had just been to at sea level. Paleokastritsa certainly deserves its nickname of "God's balcony". We enjoyed a delicious Meze (plate of snacks) and glass of wine at the restaurant before continuing our journey to an outlet where they sell kumquat liqueur amongst other tempting things! We changed the ending of our excursion as we were not keen to walk around Corfu Town for an hour as we planned to go there by ourselves in the afternoon. Instead Theo took us to a place which overlooks Mouse Island and has a good view of planes taking off from Corfu Airport.
Finallly he took us back to the terminal at the end of a superbly enjoyable excursion made all the better by our excellent chauffeur!
I didn’t this was small group tour when all participants fill a bus. Also
during the city tour portion of tour,
guide just let us off in the downtown
portion of city and told us to come back to bus in 45 minutes. The guide
gave no guidance as what should see in the downtown area.
Our tour guide was informative but the tour started out with a vehicle that didn't have Air Conditioning-it blew warm air so the compressor was most likely broken. Our guide had to call for a replacement which took time to get. Loved the places we visited and that makes this tour Great!
Our tour guide, Anna Marie, was wonderful and entertaining. She knew exactly where to take us and showed us things only locals know about. However, I don't feel like our excursion was very leisurely. We felt rushed at each stop and would have liked to have a little more time, especially in Old Town Corfu. We also didn't get to see the monastery, even though it was included in the tour description. We had a lovely time though!
Enjoyed our tour of the island found our tour guide to be informative and personable. We mostly enjoyed the private boat tour which afforded great photo opportunities.
Our tour guide, Inez, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and funny - and exhibited a true love for her country and her husband, a native of Corfu. We enjoyed a few tastings and some breathtaking scenery. Our only regret was the that the traffic in the main town - at the end of the tour- prevented us visiting the heart of the commercial district. Unfortunately, the Town is too crowded when cruise ships arrive.
This was a really wonderful tour with an extremely passionate and knowledgeable guide and a great driver. We went to some beautiful places and would highly recommend doing this tour. We booked it as an excursion while on a cruise and it was made very easy. They also make sure that you're back to the cruise ship on time, so there's no stress.
This was an awesome tour, very affordably priced. Our tour guide, whose name I've forgotten was very knowledgeable. We were transported in a large, comfortable bus to a monastery, Paleokastritsa for a boat ride, and to a small restaurant which provided a plate of local snack items. We then drove through the beautiful mountains while our guide told story after fascinating story about the area. Finally, we were taken to the town center which was one of the most beautiful we've seen. I highly recommend this tour. It was great.
Phillip was a wonderful tour guide and this was one of the best tours we have taken on any cruise. He had a passion to share his beautiful island and the history...along with some information on various movies and books that had been filmed and written here. I would definitely recommend this tour and hope you will be lucky enough to have Phillip as your guide.
It started 30 minutes late because they were waiting for people who never showed up, they combined 3 tours the wine tasting, walking tour and this tour so people were upset. The guide was not very good at keeping time so we were at risk of missing our ship. The sights we went to were nice though
Wonderful experience. Loved the boat ride!
Excellent trip provided by an informative guide at lesser cost than similar options provided by cruise ships.
There was more to Corfu than I would have previously imagined.
This was an excellent tour 4 star. Our guide was on time and spoke adequate English. There were only 8 of us in the group in a small van. A light lunch with wine was provided. Colin and Mary Ellen Kent.
This tour was very informative and worthwhile but there were some hiccups. First, it did not really consist of a small group as stated in the description. There were 30 people in this small-group tour and they had a big bus for us. Second, we did not visit the Koum Kouat distillery because it was closed. This may have been because we arrived on a Sunday but the guide said that it is usually open. In any case, that wasn't a big disappointment because you can buy the Koum Kouat liquor in Corfu Town. Finally, we only had about 20 minutes to walk around Corfu Town not really enough time to do it justice. Except for these small negatives, the tour was nice. The Monastery of the Virgin Mary had a lot of beautiful flowers and wasn't too crowded. The views from Bella Vista gave us a nice overview of the island.
Our guide Georgia was awesome!! Very knowledgeable, funny and passionate about Corfu! She made the tour fun never a dull moment!
Book this tour now! You won't regret it!
We were met off of the cruise ship and taken on a wonderful tour with another couple. Our guide, George was fantastic, so informative. We did the boat tour to the caves which was terrific. This tour was FANTASTIC. It was one of our favorite days. Ellen
Fantastic day trip. Our tour guide George was superb. His local knowledge ensured a great day - very informative but also highly enjoyable for the whole family. I would highly recommend this tour.
The tour was amazing with incredible scenery. We arrived at a small village along the coast and we paid the extra to go on a boat trip and explore some caves and see the area by boat. It was fun. The tour of the monastery was also very nice. Once the bus got to the top of the hill we had the most incredible view of the area and had some lunch. Our time in the old town of Corfu was only 1/2 hour as our tour left later than stated and we made it back to the ship with 10 minutes to spare. It was a great day.
This was a great tour. Our tour guide George was awesome. We first started out visiting a Koum Kouat Distellery where we sampled various wines and then headed to the Paleokastritsa Monastery which was interesting and provided magnificent views. George was able to get us on a boat tour of the Blue Caves which was absolutely beautiful. We had a light snack where we able to try local food and ouzo very strong!. Finally we were dropped off at our request to the Old town of Corfu where we walked around on our own.
Was a great tour. He brought us to a dock where for 10 euros we could go on a boat and experience Greese! However he did drop of us off in old part of town and told us it was a 15 min walk back to ship. It was more like 45 min. It was extremely hot that day
This was an amazing tour. Irene found us all at the cruise terminal. She was very knowledgeable about Corfu and kept up an interesting commentary about the island. This was our very best tour for the entire cruise. Daphne and Howard
An excellent small group tour. Our guide was informative and easy to understand and we visited some lovely places.
Our tour did not go to all of the sites noted on the itinerary. It did give us an opportunity to see parts of Corfu outside of Corfu Town, but was much more limited than what was stated in the summary on Viator.
Tour guide George is a local young man with a love of his country and its history. He was personable and knowledgable and the pace of the excursion was perfect. I would recommend to anyone.
Our guide was excellent- unfortunately weather was wet but we still had a very interesting and scenic tour. We were very well looked after! Would recommend to other travellers.
