Day 1: Arrival in Leh Upon arrival at Leh airport, you will be transferred to the hotel by a local representative. After a smooth check-in process, relax and take time to acclimatize to the high altitude. In the early afternoon, visit the Leh Palace, also known as ‘Lachen Palkhar’, and the Shanti Stupa, located on a hilltop near Chanspa. Spend your evening exploring the colorful local markets. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay. Day 2: Sightseeing around Leh Today you’ll explore the surroundings of Leh. After breakfast, set out to explore the Shey Palace, one of the ancient palaces in Leh. Stop at Sindhu Ghat, a beautiful riverbank, known for its unique and scenic landscape. Then, visit the Thiksey monastery, situated on top of a hill and offering a beautiful view of its surroundings. Next, visit the Hemis monastery, the biggest and most richly-decorated monastery in Ladakh. Visit the Stok Palace Museum, a small museum with an intriguing collection of ceremonial dresses, crowns, and centuries-old pieces of jewelry. Return to Leh in the evening. Day 3: Leh to Khardong La After breakfast, drive to Khardung La, via the highest road in the world to drive on, at an altitude of 17,582 feet (5359 meters). Spend time exploring the area and taking photographs of the fantastic views, before returning to Leh. The afternoon is free to explore the local markets. Overnight stay in Leh. Day 4: Departure from Leh This morning after breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport to continue your onward journey.
