Our guide, Mose, was very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject. He kept us entertained for the full 2.5hr tour and explained the unique history of Venice which made our stay more meaningful. Venice was lovely without the huge crowds and no queues during the pandemic.
Francesca was an excellent and helpful guide, her knowledge of art and the history of the Doge’s palace was outstanding. A most informative tour. I was impressed that she tailored her talk to include and engage the young member of the group as well as the adults.
Elena is a great host, bringing history to life with wit and insight. We did the long tour through Basilika San Marco and Palazzo Ducale.
Guide was on time and the headphone system to hear his tour worked great. It was hot in Venice that day. Really knowledgeable tour guide on the art history of the paintings/murals and learned a lot about Venice, St. Marco’s square, the Basilica San Marco, the Duke and Governance of Venice over a millennia. The Doge visit was really good. Likely didn’t need to ‘skip the line’ given the lack of people, but over all a well executed tour. Worth the expense and our group was only approx 10 people.
We had our tour on Feb 6th, It was an amazing experience, the radio was clear, and the tour was well organized. I would like to thank our amazing guide, Martina, who was very helpful , very informative and passionate about telling the history of the place. Not only she was very professional, but she made our tour enjoyable in every possible way with our 1 year old baby with us.
If I come again to Venice I would definitely ask for her as a guide. I strongly recommend her.
Thank you so much for making our day.
5 stars isn’t high enough for this tour. Susan our tour guide was so knowledgeable and involved all the people in the tour, children and adults alike. Value for money.
This was a fantastic tour! Our guide, Martina, was super knowledgeable and very friendly. She definitely made it a one of a kind experience! I would highly recommend it!
Susan our guide met us at the time and place as arranged. She was very friendly and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent seeing these wonderful sights in Venice.
Fantastic afternoon spent exploring St Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace .
Our guide Mose’ was informative , funny and organised the tour well with a short break between the two buildings .
A good sized group and we were kitted out with headsets which although occasionally suffering from interference, in general worked well.
Would recommend this tour to any one wanting an excellent introduction to two of Venice’s iconic buildings.
Pam was fantastic, very knowledgeable and gave us so much information about Venice and it’s history. She was also very personable and funny. Would highly recommend this trip
This was probably one of the best tours I have ever been on. Our guide, Mose, was engaging, interesting and funny. So many amazing details, much much more than we heard that others learned from their similar tours of St Marks Church, Tge Doges Palace, Bridget of Sighs and the adjacent prison. Three full hours and was not bored once. Mode was great. I felt like I understood what I was seeing and everything was put into the context of the time. Fascinating tour. Worth every cent!
Our guide was incredible! We felt like we learned so much. The 3 hours went by so quick. Wish we had more time.
Great tour - our guide Francesca was very informative and made our tour most enjoyable. Strongly recommend.
Incredible tour, highly recommend. Gives you so much information on the history of Venice. Our guide provided so much information and was highly knowledgeable.
Depth of k owl edge was outstanding. Brought the sites to life. Highly recommend Susan. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for a perspective of an art historian.
The tour was well organised: meeting location was easy to find by the Museum Correr and registration swift. Our guide was well informed (is an archeologist) and imparted a wealth of information (fact, fiction and opinion). I enjoyed the time spent in the Doge’s Palace. The timing worked well as the sun was at its highest - good time to visit the Basilica and view its golden interior (and avoid any crowds). The tour was educational. Warning - while the tour is in the palace and basilica, it is cold inside. Wrap up warm.
Worthwhile - to queue jump
We had a sizable group of about 25 people. Our guide Andrea had a background in architecture, so he was very thorough in explaining how Venice is build, how the flood affected the buildings/the city, etc. We learned a lot about the history of St Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace. A good investment of time and money overall.
Romy was very knowledgeable and did a great job keeping things moving without it feeling rushed. Her expertise and pride in Venice was obvious.
Excellent, very well informed guide, professional and efficient. Would definitely book another to these guided tours.
My sister and I were only in Venice for less than a day, so I wanted to make sure we were able to see the main attractions. This 3-hour walking tour gave us access to everything in St. Mark's Cathedral and Doge's Palace, including the Bridge of Signs. Our tour guide, Martina, was AMAZING, and I learned so much about the history of Venice. She also gave great recommendations on where to eat after the tour! Because it was December, it was very cold and rainy, so don't forget to bundle up and bring an umbrella! Thanks so much!
The experience was great. It is hard to imagine how detailed and wonderful their work is. For how rough and awkward their tools to produce the quality of work.
I really enjoyed St Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace tour. Our guide Susan was fantastic. You could tell from the very beginning how passionate she was about this tour. Thank You. Brian.
We were extremely lucky and blessed on our tour. Majority of the tourist had canceled due to the flooding. However, the water was not an inconvenience at all. All of the attractions were open, and ever areas that weren't normally open were opened. There were zero crowds when touring the Doge Palace. Our tour guide did a great job of taking her time and allowing us to truly soak in the immaculate views since we weren't rushed by people. I definitely I would recommend. I would also like to point out that our tour guide did have a difficult family and remained kind and patient the entire time. I was very impressed, not many people would be able to do that.
A most enjoyable experience with an local guide who was both friendly and knowledgeable. Everything was explained in a most interesting manner with humour and the time simply melted away.
Well worth booking on this tour as worth every penny. Thank you
Great tour of the Basilica and Doge's Palace. Tour guide was very thorough and gave visitor chances to ask questions.
Our tour guide was very informative and provided a great tour of both St. Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace. I would high recommend this experience to others!
My mom and I took this tour on a Saturday morning on our first full day in Venice. I was first impressed by the organization when a representative from the company arrived at 8:30am and proactively started organizing the group. We were a full tour of 24 people. Our tour guide was Giuseppina and she was fantastic. She knows so much about Venice and its history and explained things really well and made important historical connections and insights to position Venice within a world context. There was Aqua Alta and she did a great job maneuvering a large group through the catwalks at a busy time. This was my first time to Venice and this tour offered an excellent backdrop to really understand Venice and its history before seeing the rest of the city.
Loved this tour of St. Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace. I learned so much beyond what I would have gotten from a book or on my own. Francesca was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She was able to weave history, culture and political influences into her commentary which made the destinations even more remarkable and memorable beyond the magnificence of the architecture and artistry. There was lots of walking and standing and climbing steep stairs. I was worried that my husband who had knee replacement surgery 6 months ago would not be able to make it. But he did. We did have a 15 minute stop and places to take a seat so the 3 hours wasn't too long or short. It was just right. I highly recommend!!
It started pretty strangely with a lot of time wasted on random talk - how this is late season, not many people are visiting and so on so forth. However, it became clear later on that our guide knew her stuff.
She was a bit quirky though.
