I enjoyed the tour and learned a lot. However, based on other reviews I read, I thought they would go more in depth into the slaves’ POV. Of the 75 min it seemed the last 15-20 minutes was out in the back where the slave cabins are. I left wanting to know more about what happened to them before and after emancipation. Still, it was very interesting including information about the house itself and who the Creole people were. Our guide was very informative and had a great knowledge of the plantation and the families that lived there. It was interesting to learn about a creole plantation.

Our guide was the best of any plantation tour (and we toured several). Unfortunately our tour was one of his last since it was his last day. He obviously had done much research and shared stories of the family, plantation life, and the people who had lived on the plantation. We learned many new things about plantation life on his tour. This was a very thorough tour of both the house and the outbuildings. We had a good time and the guide was very informed. Beautiful house and well furnished. I saw a cute little squirrel up in the grapefruit tree guarding, “ his” grapefruit.

Third visit- the best tour guide to date, Lindie. This your focused more on the historical culture and slave history and was a great perspective. In the past the tours, which were very good, focused on the societal and architectural aspects and some on slavery, but not to the detail that Lindie provided. Great visit-the best of plantation visits for true history, not the "who visited, what films were shot there" spiel of others in the area. A great glimpse of history.Beautiful place, very interesting tour which help us to understand this part of American and French history
