What to expect
Join us for a guided Kayak trip to the spectacular Manupirua Springs Hot Pools on Lake Rotoiti.
On arrival at our base we will get you kitted up in the paddling gear before a short drive to the lake.
After a paddle and safety brief we paddle across scenic Lake Rotoiti to this amazing spot only accessible by boat.
Situated right on the lake edge there are a range of hot pools of varying temperatures all fed from a natural hot spring.
Paddling time is usually around 1 hour each way, with time to relax and enjoy the hot pools or swim in the lake before enjoying a leisurely return paddle.
During the paddle your guide will tell you some of the history of the area and some local Maori legend’s, we also have the option of visiting a cave where you may be able to glimpse a couple of glow worms.

Traveler pickup is offered
Pick up from central Rotorua commercial accomodation or the I-Site information approximately half an hour before the trip if required.
We do not pick up from private addresses such as Air BnB

As a strictly indoors family I was a little hesitant at the start having never kayaked before, neither had my daughters. But with Rachael's expert guidance, experience and good sense of humour we had a fantastic night, managing the kayaking just fine in rougher than ideal conditions. The hot springs were fantastic with temperatures to suit everyone and the view over looking the lake was magic and meant I could watch the kids jumping off the pier from my chosen pool. The return trip was on sunset and then under an almost full moon and a sky full of stars, the glow worm cave was cozy but great to see. An unforgettable experience that we would all love to do again.
