Overview
Pickup from your hotel to Samui Elephant Sanctuary to meet the home of 6 retired elephants which is listed by World Animal Protection. Watching the wildlife animals play in the mud and bathe in the ponds by themselves and you will learn from our experienced tour guide with our elephants. The Thai vegetarian buffet will be serves during the time you watching the elephants enjoy their own time. This program is suitable with all ages and please note that the activities is not offer bathe and muddy with elephant.They need space to splash, roll around, submerge, and cover themselves in mud. Elephants like peace and quiet, not loud groups of visitors throwing mud or buckets of water at them. If people are crowding around them, it is very stressful for the elephants. Also, the mahout (handler) needs to control the elephant by forcing it to stand still or lie down, not giving any freedom for the elephant to play.

Just brilliant. Lovely hosts who truly care about the elephants. As a Swede a big bonus was that I got to prepare ‘meatballs’ for the elephants (vegan of course). Cant recommend highly enough.

I was visiting Koh Samui on business and by chance stopped off when I saw the sign for the elephant sanctuary. Normally they don’t allow this but a tour was just finishing so I was allowed to prepare some food for the two female elephants. My contact was Kwan who was lovely, she guided me throug...
I was visiting Koh Samui on business and by chance stopped off when I saw the sign for the elephant sanctuary. Normally they don’t allow this but a tour was just finishing so I was allowed to prepare some food for the two female elephants. My contact was Kwan who was lovely, she guided me through all the information about all the sanctuary. It was really to sad to see two Mahoots had been let go due to not enough money coming in due to Covid. I beg you all to donate £100 to this absolutely amazing sanctuary, the elephants eat 10% of their own bodyweight every day. The staff are amazing and I wish them all the success in the world. If EVER you are in Samui, please book and donate to the upkeep of these gorgeous mammals. I have had the most wonderful experience of my life today. PeterVal H

a wonderful if sometime upsetting visit when you hear about the trauma that these lovely animals have been through before being rescued. It was a wonderful experience meeting, feeding and being so close to these amazing animals.

Une expérience sensationnelle ! Des soigneurs qui donnent leurs vie pour s’occuper des éléphants. Des guides dévoués ! Les éléphants sont en totale liberté , aucune chaîne , des histoires difficile à entendre sur la cruauté humaine envers les éléphants. Mais une histoire qui se finit bien po...

Mais une histoire qui se finit bien pour les elephants ici présent, seulement il y en a encore tellement à sauvé ! C’est pour CELA QU’IL FAUT VENIR ICI ! Pour en sauver d’autre , les places sont peut être plus excessive pour la Thaïlande , mais vous prenez soins des animaux et vous permettrez à l’association d’en sauver d’autres qui sont tortures, maltraités , affamés, enfermés... c’est à nous d’agir pour un tourisme responsable !
