Our guide Kazue was the best! She took us to the market where we tried a few bites of local favorites and then took us to a lavish department store that had a small sushi stall. The sushi was amazing. Then she took us on a nice walk through the castle and gardens. We had such a lovely time with Kazue and learned a lot! She's a wonderful guide and really made our visit to Kanazawa special and memorable. Just a not on food tours in Japan (we had two).... food tours in Japan don't include food, so you'll need yen to pay as you go. Also, it's wonderful when the guide eats with you, so it's important to make sure your guide is explicity invited to join in the fun and food. And finally, I would recommend you be specific about what food you want to try, as the food tours seem to be more focused on sit down eating rather than having a few bites in several different places. We prefer a walking / tasting tour, and Kazue made it happen. Had a great time!SACHIKO NAKAI our tour guide made the experience extraordinary from explaining the history of Geisha districts, to taking pictures and ending the evening with a traditional Japanese dinner, sake and all. Great group, lots of laughter and lively conversation. Thank you Sachiko
