Start your small-group tour with a pickup from your central Bologna hotel or Bologna Centrale train station.
Then, board your air-conditioned minibus and hear interesting nuggets about the culinary heritage of Emilia-Romagna, of which Bologna is the capital, as you travel to a factory that makes its famous Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
Head inside and watch the cheese-makers produce this legendary hard cheese, typically used to garnish pastas, risottos and salads. See how the milk is churned in huge vats and learn how the long aging process imbues Parmesan with its trademark tanginess.
Sample some differently aged varieties and anjoy a really tasty breakfast, then depart for Modena and one of the region’s acetaia — family-owned farmhouses — that make balsamic vinegar. Next, head for a prosciutto factory and learn the secrets behind this dry-cured ham. Find out about the lengthy curing process, and finally, sample some freshly cut slices of this succulent delicacy with Lambrusco wine.
Then, drive on to the Museo Ferrari in the town of Maranello to immerse yourself in another of Italy’s iconic exports, Ferrari sports cars. A celebration of all things Ferrari, the museum tells the story of the brand with displays of vintage and contemporary models, and exhibitions charting its history and F1 honors.
Enjoy a guided tour, and if you wish, use some free time here to test drive a Ferrari car, with an instructor beside you (own expense).
Finish with a delicious a delicious 6-course lunch at a local restaurant, (see Itinerary for a sample menu), accompanied by wine and water, and followed by coffee and an after-lunch liquor. Then, return to Bologna, where your tour ends with a hotel or station drop-off.

Fabio and Ricky were fantastic - so informative and very very accommodating. The tours itself were the perfect length and I enjoyed every minute! Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to see it all in one day!
Fabio and Massimo made it a good time. Found that we enjoy frizzante wine. If you are a fan of actual balsamic, this would be the time to purchase it.
Very interesting and value for money. Our guide Andrea was very informative and funny.

The chosen stops were excellent. Balsamic vinegar stop was extremely interesting. The lunch was a very tasty experience
Guide was very knowledgeable and we had ample time at each stop. Guide made sure everyone got pictures and even took pictures of us at prime stops. Lunch was fantastic. Very good time from start to the very end.
A fantastic tour with a great guide and fantastic driver. The factories were very interesting and we learnt a lot, and the tastings were delicious! The Ferrari museum was super interesting. But the lunch - WOW! The best included lunch that we've ever had on a tour - it was OUTSTANDING! Yum!
A phenomenal tour. Seeing the process that goes into making the holy trio of Italy (Parmigiano, Prosciutto, and Balsalmic Vinegar) was fascinating.
Our guide was extremely informative and helpful with follow up questions at each stop. The tours of the facility were smooth and full of helpful tips to serving and eating the foods that were covered in the tour. We also got some great ideas for wine pairings out of the trip; my new wife and I even found a new addition to our Top 5 list.
After a long run of food, the Ferrari Museum was a palate cleanser. Also a beautiful facility, but if cars are not your thing you can take that stop as free time. Finally we went to lunch, which was an amazing tasting of all the best foods you can find in Balogna and the surrounding area.
This was nearly the first thing we did on our honeymoon and it was perfect. Our group also had some vacationing couples and families that loved it just as much as we did, and led to entertaining conversation during our lunch.
Highly recommended, book as soon as you can.
Lovely tour. The guide Micol was informative and very nice, so was driver Claudio. The visits were all very interesting and lunch was great.
This had to be the best tour I have been on in Italy. The tour guide Max was excellent full of information at each stop and Claudio the bus driver was great also. I would highly recommend this tour.
This trip was fantastic! Having a small group was the best way. The food, wine, tours, knowledgeable tour guide, wine, unique locations, opportunity to drive a Ferrari (for additional costs), wine, and food made for an absolutely fantastic day! My family was all very happy with the tour and everything that we got to see and do in a day! It is well worth it!
Very nice driver very polite!
Very professional the tour was excellent!! Highly recommended !
We enjoy every minute
The tour was great , had lots to see from cheese factory to the Ferrari factory, ! Great 6 course lunch but could have been a little shorter , Morecio was our guide very knowledgeable, Highly recommend this tour!
This was a great tour perfectly divided into food, cars and beauty and the tour guide was great. The 6-course meal was fabulous. This tour is well worth the price! My nephew was most thrilled because he got to drive a Ferrari at 18 years old.
It was well organized, our tour guide Andrea was funny and interesting to listen to! Thank you for this wonderful tour!
Excellent small group tour with great guide Maurizio and Claudio our driver.
We visited a Parmagiana cheese factory with tasting at the end , a balsamic and prosciutto maker also with tastings.
We then drove to the Ferrari Museum with the option of taking one for a drive. It was approx. 120 euros for 10 minutes Get in quick as soon as the bus stops because after 1.30pm you are driven about 10 minutes away to test drive the Ferrari. This will mean you are rushing to get back to see the museum.
Lunch was delicious and included desert and a coffee.
Highly recommended trip 10/10.
Great excursion while we were in Bologna! Delicious food and dinner. Really informative. Shout out to fabulous Andrea and Claudio!
We were having a great time in Bologna by joining this tour especially the lunch was awesone and absolutely fantasic. We enjoyed it very much. This tour guide was friendly, professional, informative and helpful. You will get what you have paid for. Highly recommend.
the great tour. delicious cheese and balsamic vinegar, prosciutto. The lunch was amazing. We would recommend this tour to everyone.
Despite the early hour it wasn’t a long drive out and we got a lot done. Our guide, Andrea was great! We started with Parmesan cheese tour then the Prosciutto tour then on to the Balsamic vinegar. They all served wine with the food tastings. We then went to the Ferrari museum and option to drive one or to just have photos. Lunch was last at 2:30pm and it was a 6 course meal. Bonus for us was it was a Friday and one can watch the ladies make fresh pasta on the 2nd floor of the restaurant. Excellent! What a great day it was.
This is probably one of the best tours I have ever been on. Max was a great guide. I learnt a lot about the variuos products that support this region. Got to fulfill a dream and drove a Ferrari amazing experience.
Fantastic Tour and fantastic guide. Andrea's enthusiasm was contagious. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Best Parmegiano I have ever tasted and so awesome to see it being made. My daughter is a car lover and especially a Ferrari lover and she was so thrilled with our trip to Maranello to see some of her favorites. Lots of food and drinks, it is definitely worth the money.
Probably the best tour we have ever been on. Max, our guide, was so knowledgeable and just delightful. It was much more than I expected and WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY! Thank you Viator and Amazing Italy! Job well done!!!

This trip is perfect for anyone that wants to experience the amazing food of the region as well as the iconic Maranello, home of Ferrari. My husband also e to drove a 458 which is he still talking about over a week later! This is one of the best experiences we've had, and it is amazing value for money. Thank you so much for an fantastico day!
Fascinating day out, learning about the regional food production with tastings for parmigiano, prosciutto and balsamic vinegar. Then on to the Ferrari Museum and a chance to take one for a ride. The day ended with a delicious six course heads up: theres a flight of 3 different pastas! So leave room for the meat course and dessert-
Our guide Max was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, the coach very comfortable.

A great tour led by Andrea who could not have done any more to make it successful! In fact, he went above and beyond providing many tips which resulted in an even better trip to Bologna for us. He is extremely knowledgeable about all the destinations and Italy beyond.
The highlight for me was probably a once in a lifetime opportunity to drive a Ferrari 458 Spider on public roads - still buzzing!
We will use Viator again.

A trip that gave a new dimension to the joy of Italy's splendid food
Fabulous guide Thanks Max , great agenda, scrumtious snacks and lunch. Would do it again if I had the chance. The best.
Great tour! Great guide. Originally booked the Ferrari, Lamborghini Ducati tour, but we were told it was sold out. We were offered this tour instead. My car loving son was a little disappointed but all of his disappointment vanished after his 40 minute drive in a Ferrari. It was country roads most of the way. I believe he drove up to 140mph at one point. Visiting the farms where Parmigiana, prosciutto, and balsamic vinegar are made was a highlight for me. It really makes you appreciate where your food comes from. I bought some cheese and balsamic vinegar to bring home. Prosciutto is not allowed through US customs so I could not buy that, but it was all delicious. The homemade pasta at our lunch stop was fantastic as well. I loved every aspect of this tour. Great driver, Isabella was our guide, and perfect day.
