Overview
On this Medieval Montenegro tour, you will visit the never conquered old royal capital of Montenegro, Cetinje, and learn about its heritage and interesting way of life. You will be taken to the Falcon heights of the Lovćen Mountain and National park that played a great historical role in shaping key events in Montenegro. Abundantly rich in flora and fauna, Lovćen is an important reserve for many of Montenegro's native bird species, and around 1200 varieties of plants. On the second highest top of Lovćen you can find the highest mausoleum in the world dedicated to Petar II Petrovic Njegos, a famous Montenegrin leader and poet from 19th century.

Stop At: Cetinje, Cetinje
We will take an easy city tour through the historical path of this cozy town. We will visit the Monastery of Cetinje, pass next to Cipuri church, new castle – Biljarda, King Nicola's Castle – today museum, the Presidential Palace and take a walk on the main pedestrian street. Cetinje is a city museum, and it has a lot of interesting stories about the hard but proud life of the people of medieval Montenegro.

Stop At: Njeguši, Montenegro
This village, known as a birth place of Petrovic dynasty members is well known for production of prosciutto ham, dry cheese, rakija brandy, honey wine, and you will have opportunity to taste in one of the oldest bars in Montenegro, and you will have opportunity to see special room where they are drying prosciutto.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Njegos Mausoleum, Mount Lovcen, Cetinje 81250 Montenegro
When we reach ‘Lake Peak’, the second highest peak on Mountain Lovcen we will visit the mausoleum that is the burial place of our most famous poet, country and church leader Archbishop Petar II Petrovic Njegos. Keep in mind that to reach the top of the mausoleum you need to walk up to 461 stairs, but the climb is absolutely worth it! You will get to see and understand its great historical background and treat yourself to a remarkable 360 degrees view on Montenegro.

I was traveling with my girlfriend and we booked few days in Montenegro. As we didn't have enough time, we wanted to see as much as we could in one day shore excursion. Djordje our tour guide was fabulous.He was super concerning, told us a lot, fun, and an overall great tour guide. Tour of Cetinje was interesting with all that history and royal family, then food in the village, along with serpentine view, and Kotor was fantastic. I cannot recommend this enough. I had nice tour with Montenegro club. Filip was very friendly and educated. Cetinje is beautiful, also mountain Lovcen. Tour was excellent arranged.. Hope to come back. I recommend Montenegro travel club to everyone.
