Wander along the same cobblestone streets as Paul Revere once did, pass through bustling markets where Sam Adams peddled the idea of revolution. Visit historic bars that have been frequented by Bostonians for hundreds of years. Revisit the story of America's birth and raise a glass as you learn the importance of beer in the founding of America. This historic pub crawl reveals hidden history about the events leading up to the revolutionary war and takes you where it all started: taverns. The four historic taverns visited on the tour are in the Faneuil Hall area and provide a wonderful backdrop as expert guides tell stories about Boston's rebellious past that helped lead to America's independence. Each tavern dates back at least to the 1800's, several even further which includes America's oldest tavern! At each tavern your guide will recommend beer as unique as the history of the city. Most of the beers are exclusively served in Boston and several can only be found in the taverns visited on the tour!
• Guests of all physical capabilities are invited. The historic pubs visited are all within a few blocks of each other and easily walkable • All crawlers must be at least 21 years old with proper identification (US Drivers License, US Military ID, Foreign Passport). This is because of the strict blue law in Massachusetts
The guide was extremely helpful and a lot of fun to walk around with, and extremely personable and knowledgeable, however the beer aspect, I personally would have been better off going to the dry run option and buying a beer when I wanted it.
This was very fun and we learned a lot also!
The places we visited were great! And lots of excellent beer. The historical information provided by the tour guide was very fun and detailed. Alex was awesome!
Our guide was fantastic. She was funny, genuine, knowledgeable, and had great taste in beer!
Absolutely excellent!! Alex was nothing short of incredible! Worth it.
Fun and informative
We have lived outside of Boston our entire lives and have never participated in a pub crawl! I was looking for something to do with my adult children that would be fun and different. We loved hearing about the inside history as well as enjoying locally brewed beers! Alex was fantastic! Very knowledgeable about the history and used her theatrics to make the stories come to life! I would definitely recommend taking part in this pub crawl!
Pub crawl was fantastic! Alex was fun, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to! Would definitely recommend this to anyone!
We had a great time and learned a lot while enjoying some of Boston’s own craft brews!! Highly recommend!!!
The tour was awesome! Jessica, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and all around fun! Highly recommended! I think I learned more on this tour than any history class in school + drinks made it that much better! ;)
The guide was very nice, she told us a lot of funny fact about pub and beer and was of good advice concerning the choice of beer. In addition, we met lovely couples and thus had a lot of fun.
Two of the four Bars/Pubs where to full and loud so we where not able to listen to the guid. The remaining two Bars where very nice but in the end the price for the dry option was to high.
Five of us signed up and we were joined by 6 others so it was a nice sized group. Chris was our guide and he was totally charming and engaging. He gave us the history peppered with humor and kept our interest the entire time. Oh, and there were drinks, too! A great way to spend the afternoon!
Our tour was outstanding! Chris, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and personable. My husband and I have taken numerous tours in many different countries and this was by far the best. The company obviously hires the best!
Our tour guide Connor gave us historic facts about the city where
Such a fun amazing experience! Our tour guide Jessica was so funny, knowledgeable and awesome. We walked the freedom trail, heard a ton of history AND had beers. I would recommend doing the drinks included, cheaper and easier.
Conner was a great and personal and informative guide!!!!!
Great guide! Totally fun plus you learn about the area!
The tour provided interesting incite into political activities and events occurring in Boston leading up to and during the american revolution, as well as the role that taverns and drinking had during that time. The tour guide was also spot on with beer descriptions and recommendations. She also suggested a number of places to go to and see while we were in town, that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Paxton was our guide. He was friendly and comfortable to be with. Very knowledgeable about the history and the back stories of our founding fathers. In addition to modern day Boston history. Paxton was able to speak to the beers which made it easier for my husband and I to make our beer choices.
Super fun. Highly recommend. Energetic guides full of knowledge.
My two daughter's, husband and myself did the Boston Independence Pub Crawl with Jessica on July 4th. We truly enjoyed everything about the tour. The best part being the informative and very entertaining commentary by Jessica. As a history major she certainly has a delightful way of bringing history alive. We highly recommend this tour and Jessica, the delightful tour guide. She's one of the best we've had the pleasure of knowing. I used to be in the business so truly can appreciate a great guide. We had a blast!! loved Conor's personality and knowledge as he related to all age groups in our group!
We had a wonderful time learning the (true) history of the birth of our country. Conor, our guide was excellent! He was nice, funny, positive, and very good at sharing the history of each of the places we visited. I would highly encourage anyone who comes to Boston to do a Pub Crawl
Definitely go on this fun "beer trip"! You will get a lot of really great information, some wonderful beer and will likely meet some great new friends. Well worth it! Do be aware that there is a version of this trip that does not include the beer, but Bobby our guide was able to fix this as another option was not presented by the people we booked through (I would never pick a beer trip without the beer!)--none the less--super fun and interesting all in one-fell-swoop. Great and different way to see a little of Boston.
