Overview

Start your morning off right with a hike on the East Side of Oahu! Options are below;

(1) Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail (Sunrise Hike) Only Available: Tue, Wed and Thu
This is a paved 2.5 mile hike for all ages. Between November and May, this trail is an excellent place to view migrating humpback whales. On a clear day, you may even see the neighboring islands of Molokai and Lanai!

(2) Diamond Head Crater (Early Morning Hike) Available: Daily
Must-visiting during your stay in Waikiki! It is 1.6 miles roundtrip and perfect activities in the morning for adults and kids. It is quite spectacular and is something you will never forget. (Admission fee is included)

(1) 【Sunrise Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail Hiking Shuttle +East Side】
Pick up: Waikiki / Kahala (1 hour 30 mins before the sunrise)

1. Sunrise Hike at Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail (2 hours)
Hike up the Makapuu Lighthouse Trail for one of the best views of the sunrise on the island.

2. Halona Blowhole (15mins)
Enjoy the views of the the Halona Blowhole as it sprays out water from the Pacific Ocean as well as the Halona Cove, which is a small secluded beach often used in movies.

3. Sandy Beach (15mins)
Stop by at the iconic Sandy Beach and watch bodyboarders ride the powerful waves that break near the shoreline.

Pick up: Waikiki/Kahala (5:30am-5:45am)

Diamond Head Crater Hike (2 hours)
Hike up Diamond Head Crater and enjoy the panoramic and aerial view of Waikiki.

Drop off: Waikiki/Kahala (8:00am-8:15am)

We really enjoyed our sunrise hike on the Makapu'u. Lighthouse Trail. So beautiful and peaceful. Take a flasht light ... you will only need briefly. Just depends how early you arrive to start your hIke. The trail is paved...which is great. Recommend go early vs later. If you go later...be pr...

We did the makapuu lighthouse trail. The trail was beautiful with all the different views. Well worth getting up early for. The driver/tour guide was amazing stopping off on the way back to the blow holes and the lava beach. He was great

I think people may not realize that it’s a night hike. We started in dark and the sky lighted up when we hiked up. Bring a warm jacket while waiting for sunrise on the top. Even we didn’t see the sunrise which is covered by heavy clouds, the hike is fun. The driver is very friendly and chatted wi...
