We had an excellent experience on the lost city hike! Our crew provided a great experience. We had an awesome guides in Sixto and translator Herbert. And our chef Kunga (aka Osnieder), kept us fed with delicious food the entire journey. Would highly recommend the lost city hike with Expotur!

Our trip to the lost city was really great thanks to our guide Cesar, our translator Pilar, and our cook Ismael. This team was really lovely and the Ciudad Perdida is very impressive. Highly recommanded!

We had a wonderful 4 day trek to the lost city. Jhoan and the team were exceptional at looking out for us and we really felt cared for in terms of being fed both food and information. Each day we had plenty of opportunities to cool off at beautiful swimming spots and Jhoan planned out routes and timings to avoid the crowds which we truly appreciated. He had strong connections within the community and was really dedicated to teaching us about the past conflicts in the area, the current culture and caring for the area. Translations from Samuel were really appreciated by us English only speakers and the cooks worked hard to keep us all fed. The only part of our experience with expotour that was lacking was regarding the payment at the office - they asked you to come in a day early to pay but then half the people haven't paid on the day so we were waiting in the office for an hour and a half, after getting up extra early to be picked up - this could be improved. Also, expect to be in a group of 10 and to be sharing each base camp with 50 or so others, it's busy but was fine on the trail (I think mostly due to Jhoan's good planning)

The trip in its whole was amazing. You don't only see the lost city but you also get to experience the nature, birds, relaxing in rivers and learn about the history and the customs of the indigenous living there. Small advise: the tour is very demanding even for people who are in a general fit condition. You are walking in steep mountains, e.g. on the first day you have to master 500 meters hight difference. On the other hand you can pack light since in each camp everything is prepared for the night. The guide Sixto took great care of us. He knows a lot about the birds and animals and is good in explaining things visibly. The translator Hebert (Manny) speaks English very well and contributed a lot to the good spirit of the group. The cook Kunga prepared great meals and always made sure to meet our requirements. Thanks to those 3 and the good group composition we felt warmly welcomed and were able to enjoy the tour.

We had a great experience not only because of the beautiful nature and impressive historic place. We really enjoyed the well organised tour. The guide Sixto was well prepared and explained several things. The translator Manni was not only translating, he was also always taking care of everything and knew a lot. The cool Kunga was just amazing because every day he offered different meals perfect in size and taste.

Had an amazing experience with ExpoTurs! Enrique, Carlos & Fernando went above & beyond to make sure we were well looked after! The food was delicious, the info provided was great, but most importantly we had good fun & spirits were kept high from start to finish! A truly amazing trip. Hard work with some steep hills and hot weather but well worth the effort. Guides Andrés and Ida were brilliant - patient and professional the whole way as were the cook and the translator. The organisation is well planned with plenty good food, filtered water and good accomodation during the trek. Highly recommended by me.

Well this hike was something special. To say it was life changing may go a bit far but it definitely was a great experience. Firstly I would recommend anyone taking on this hike to be in relatively good shape as it is a lot of uphill and downhill walking for the full tour. That said, you’ll get to walk through the jungle of the Sierra Nevada which sometimes feels like a movie set of Jurassic Park. There are also some great natural swimming spots to refresh throughout the tour and the campsites are comfortable enough. Compliments to the chef as the food was really delicious too. Meeting the main tribesman at the lost city and the city itself was literally the pinnacle of the trip. The guide Jhoan, translator Samuel and the cook & helper all did an excellent job!

Truly awesome experience, our guides Ida, Aldi and of course Andres were fantastic, supporting us throughout the whole walk and telling their stories. The chef and the food in the journey was amazing too, fresh fruit never tasted so good. Genuinely grew a bond with everyone on the walk over the course of the 4 days.

A great trip with a great group and awesome guide, translator and cook (José, Herberth and Orlando) from Expotur! The nature was beautiful, and the lost city was much larger than expected. The food and accomodations was good, and we swam in the river every day!

Colombia is an incredible country, and the Ciudad Perdida is easily the best thing I did while there. Expotur ran a tight ship, and we were fortunate to have an outstanding crew leading us on our journey-Cesar, Kevin, Gustavo and Letys. With over 30 years of experience, our leader Cesar was a consummate professional and full of incredible knowledge about every facet of the journey-as well as a few exciting stories from his time on the trail-and we always felt completely safe and comfortable in his hands. Kevin was always hard at work providing us snacks or leading us on the trail, Gustavo was entertaining and personable in his translating, and we never went hungry thanks to Letys's outstanding cooking. Our hiking was perfectly paced with adequate breaks for water and the occasional snacks, our 'campsites' (comfortable shelters with bunkbeds+mosquito nets) were wonderful and everywhere we stopped had access to water for swimming. The Lost City itself is more spectacular than pictures can capture and brimming with fascinating history-a worthwhile goal for such a fun hike. I could not recommend it more highly and it was all thanks to the outstanding team of professionals who took great care not just to get us in and out, but also took time to entertain, educate and connect with all of us on a personal level.

It was a challenging trek but the Expotur team went above and beyond to make sure we enjoy every moment of it. Our guide Gabriel was an angel from the first moment. He gave us all the information about the area, about the flora and fauna, the indigenous people and Ciudad Perdida itself. He was very patient and helpful, an amazing guide and great company. With him we felt super safe during the whole trek. Our chef Orlando was similarly amazing, we had really nutritious and delicious food every day so we always had the right level of energy for the hike. He also paid attention to special needs and dietary requirements. The trek itself was beautiful too and we are so happy we did it with Expotur.

Amazing experience! Our guide Jose was very knowledgeable about anything we wanted to know about history, indigenous tribes, the lost city and so on. Our translator Heberth made sure, we could understand everything. Food was great and it was a lot, Orlando cooked for us. Definitely got the energy we needed for this hike. I enjoyed it a lot and it is a highlight of my Colombia travels.

The tour company was recommended to me during my prior travels in Paraguay and the experience was fantastic. Daniel (the main guide) was extremely knowledgeable, personable and seemingly one of the most respected guides in the park. Isi (our co-guide and translator) was extremely thorough and concise with his translations, gladly answered our questions and was always laughing and smiling. Jesus (our cook) prepared unique and delicious meals, and offered options depending on dietary restrictions. With regard to the trekking, we were always provided with detailed instructions on the daily itinerary and agreed to morning wake up times with breakfast the night prior. The organization was extremely impressive and I was lucky enough to have a group of 8 with amazing chemistry. I would do the tour again in a heart beat and thus couldn’t recommend it more! It’s been less than a day and I’m already missing my Lost City family!
