My husband and I recently booked a tour of Venice with Genny and it was one of the best tours of our entire trip! Genny is personable, very interesting and knowledgeable. She told us the history of the masks and carnival. She explained how the plague affected Venice and how, the cats were the heroes in fighting the plague. She took us to the bookshop that been damaged by the flood. The best part was the roof terrace with the 360 degree view of Venice! She also gave us restaurant recommendations which were terrific. She showed us the local fresh food markets, the Rialto bridge, St Mark’s square as well as some far less crowded areas where mainly locals go. After our tour, she sent us information about restaurants, the vaporetto, where to buy jewelry and other things we had asked for help with. We learned a lot and Valentina made our stay in Venice much easier and enjoyable.
