Herculaneum Private Tour with an Archaeologist
Overview
Herculaneum was the best holiday destination for the Roman aristocracy, a small chest full of miracles as Romans stated. In its private residences and public buildings were found marble decorations, wall paintings, mosaic floors as well as objects implemented in the everyday life. Also called 'the sister of Pompeii', this city shows you some better preserved findings like wooden doors and exquisite paintings.
With an Archaeologist leading you through the site sharing his knowledge and telling you interesting anecdotes, you'll get the feeling to be walking in a still living town!

Easy access and memorable experience. Don’t miss this if you get the chance. Much more intact than Pompeii (which is also a must while in the area).

Wow what a wonderful tour around Herculaneum we had, the weather wasn't on our side, however that didn't matter at all because our guide, Luciano was amazing and his spirits and passion didn't dampen at all. We learnt so much and having visited Pompei a couple of times in previous visits to the area, it was interesting to make comparisons between the two and the fate that awaited the cities and its inhabitants. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour and especially Luciano to anyone visiting Herculaneum. We had such as brilliant tour with him, that we want to repeat the experience in Pompei during our next visit because we know it will be a whole new experience with his story telling, information, pictures and passion for his work. Having done a group tour of Pompei and other sites, I would also recommend the private tour because it caters to a small group and feels so personal because you are engaging with the guide and the site and not just listening to a monologue on a headset.Ask for him to be your guide. He knows so much and is so passionate about Herculaneum and its history, you'll love it! He does work on in himself and you can see it's what he cares about in life.
