Your Halong Bay tour begins with a 3.5-hour drive from the hectic pace in Vietnam's capital city, Hanoi, to the tranquil and beautiful Halong Bay. En route stop at the Hong Ngoc Humanity Center, a handicraft outlet developed to provide support to communities in the area including people's with disabilities. The handicrafts made at the center are available for you to purchase.
On arrival in Halong City board the Chinese junk for your cruise on Halong Bay, famous for its lime karsts jutting out of the green waters creating a spectacular vista as nearly 2000 islands fill the bay. A UNESCO listed World Heritage site since 1994, Halong Bay means "Bay of the Descending Dragon". Legend has it that a long time ago when the Vietnamese were fighting off foreign invaders, the gods sent a family of dragons to assist in the fight. During the battle the dragons spat out jewels that would later become the islands that now are scattered around the bay.
The cruise explores some of the grottos and caves that have formed in many of the islands that fill Halong Bay. Visit a fishing village where you learn about the culture and customs of the local inhabitants and enjoy a scrumptious seafood lunch on board the boat before returning to Hanoi.

Children between the ages of 6 and 11 inclusively are permitted on this tour at the rate listed above. Please select ‘child’ above when booking. Children below the age of 6 are not permitted on this tour..
Please note that swimming is not permitted in line with new regulations introduced by the local authority concerning the section of Halong Bay we visit. The Local authority of Halong Bay decided to remove the Van Gia fishing farm (next to Thien Cung Cave) to be outside in 2014 and therefore we can no longer visit this village. We apologise for any inconvenience..
Dress standards are conservative throughout Asia, especially outside major cities. To respect this and for your own comfort, we strongly recommend modest clothing. This means clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Loose, lightweight, long clothing is both respectful and cool in the predominantly hot Asian climate.
This is a great trip if the weather is nice. Unfortunately, we had a cloudy day. The cave we visited was beautiful. Our guide did an excellent job and everything was very well arranged. This is a must do when visiting Hanoi.
We went with Urban Advebtures on this trip. First of all their team is wonderful. San was with us and explained everything clearly and with great passion. He loves his country and by the time he is done you will too. Great trip. Clean bus. Smooth driver Mr. Hill. Good food on the boat. Highly recommended.
Pretty good tour of Halong Bay. Everything was easy and the guide was friendly.
Enjoyed this trip immensely, was guided by Tam who is first class, she knows her history, geography and is an all round superb host - nothing was too much trouble. Her English and manner is a credit to Vietnam, the people and the nation - couldn’t recommend the tour more!
I really was looking for a more private group tour and this tour more than exceeded my expectation. My wife and I were the only two in the group! Our guide -- Chinh -- and the driver who were friendly and helpful showed up in Toyota Innova and took us on a smooth ride to Halong Bay. Initially we thought we would meet other people on the boat, but to our even further surprise we were the only two guests on the boat too. The service, the boat and the food were nice, the weather on that day not so as it was foggy but nothing anyone could control.
Met our expectation completely. The guide, Tuan, was extremely nice and helpful with very good English, sharing interesting details about Vietnam and Halong Bay on every possible occasion. Ask for Tuan as the guid if you can!
Very good. Highly recommended
pick up is on time. since the distance from Hanoi to halong is 182 Km, expect long hours on the road than on the bay. the van is comfortable with ample leg space, not crowded.
Guide is very knowledgeable and friendly.
No problems encountered during the tour.
This is a must do Tour in Hanoi. The tour was well organised, we drived about 2.5hours and stopped for toilet break then continued our journey to Halong Bay, we then spent around 3 hours on the cruise includin hiking to 2 caves. Our tour guide Lucky From Urban Adv was so nice and friendly, he shared with us lot of infomartion pertians to the Halong Bay. The lunch on the boat was really nice too: Despite the long driving hours, it is still worth the trip to Halong Bay and this one day trip will give you the highlight of the Halong Bay if you do not have more days to spend. Btw, it is important to booked a smalled group tour as the traffic in Old Quarter was so bad and the pick up during the morning may take very long, as such if you dun want to spend 1 hour sit on the coach and circle around the Old Quarter, choose a small group tour.
We had a great time on this tour despite being a little unlucky with the weather (it was still way worth it). The scenery is incredible and the tour team (driver, our guide Lucky and the boat crew) were awesome. Lunch was really tasty and the boat was spacious. Awesome tour - highly recommended!
This tour was amazing!
Great tour if you want to include Halong Bay on a tight schedule. Sure the drive is long but it goes by quickly and there is a a stop off to stretch your legs there and back . Food on the boat was probably one of the best Vietnamese meals we had on our trip! Nice tour of the caves and great guide!
Fantastic tour. Tour guide was extremely nice and well informed.
Beautify Halong Bay cruise. Good seafood lunch.
Worth the 4 hours drive each way.
Can't say enough good things about our guide Lee for this. He did an amazing job of keeping us entertained during the long car ride and was very knowledgable about the Vietnamese countryside as well as Halong Bay itself. Pickup was prompt and drop off back to our hotel was smooth. Halong Bay itself was a little cloudy the day we were there, but the company and the lunch made it something i would highly recommend!
This tour was fantastic, our guide Cuong was great. Food was a lot and only had 5 of us and a boat all to us.
one of the best tours. The food is great and fresh fish and vegies delivered to the boat so freshly cooked. The area is awesome and the trip so entertaining, they provide internet service on the bus for free so you can upload your pictures right then. They also stop on many places where you can learn about silk and other craft. Silk good and reasonable price bought 2 pieces and still very good condition. Would like to go back.
It is a long drive as everyone knows but our driver was expert in negotiating the roads. We were on a good quality bus with only a total of 4 passengers other than driver and guide. Quite a comfortable trip. The boat was able to take about 50 and it was just us! Nice lunch, quality much better than we have commonly experienced on such tours. The Halong Bay experience was marvellous. Despite it being only 2 1/2 hours we got a great taste of the place. Highly recommend this particular tour.
This was a highlight of our two week trip to Vietnam. The scenery was beautiful. The drive was a bit long, but given that we wanted to do this in a single day, it was more than acceptable. Chyen was a great guide.
This is a long but day trip not to be missed.
Good guide, good service, lovely place.
This was first of all a dream come true, and it couldn't have been better!!! Small Hanoi groups was amazing!! very convenient and super nice. I would give a 10 out of 10!!!
This was definitely one of the best highlights of our trip to Vietnam with only three nights in Hanoi. The views of Halong Bay are overawing. Our tour guide, Cong, was very insightful, funny, patient and went above and beyond to make the trip an enjoyable one. Lunch was fresh and delicious we feasted on prawns, salt and pepper pork, marinated fish fillets, squid salad and vege spring rolls. We felt safe and comfortable during the entire journey. The minibus and cruise boat were clean and well maintained. Make sure you include it in your itinerary for Hanoi - you won't regret it!
