The actual resort was beautiful. Really crowded but to be expected on a holiday weekend. The driver on the other hand was sick and falling asleep behind the wheel which made for a harrowing 4 hr ride. The air conditioner was cool but not cold. Felt better with windows open with air conditioner running. He tried to be engaging and helpful but his lack of energy due to sickness was off-putting. Beware, no where on the reservation does it say I have to pay for driver and car to enter resort. I understood paying for myself but his should have been included with price during booking. I guess the only thing paid for with booking was the car ride there. They need to be more transparent when booking.noemidC8504PD

First off, this was the most expensive option by almost $100 usd to go to Tolantongo. We thought a private tour would be worth it, however, it is a waste to pay for a tour because there is nothing that needs to be toured. You just walk around the grutas and swim. Secondly, we found David to be very rude and defensive to the point we almost asked him to turn and and drop us off (even though it would mean wasting our money) because he was so unpleasant. I’ve never met someone who does tourism work that seems to the tourist as much as he does. He also took us to eat somewhere that gave us really bad food poisoning. We also ended up paying for entry ticket, which I found to be weird because he earlier that day had said we just needed money for ourselves. Especially considering the tour was as much as it was, that felt odd to me. 10/10 would NOT recommend. Just get a driver to take you and don’t waste money on rude David.Sandra S
