Enjoyed the actual tour, but wished we could have gone to the top- your bus only goes 2/3 of the way. Description of sights was interesting. Coach bus getting to/from Gibraltar was a nightmare. 3/4 of passengers got on at one stop in Malaga. Rest got on during the drive. Tour description said pickup in towns along the highway. Bus wound through several towns to pickup people close to hotels. This added an hour to the drive there and back. One couple was obnoxious from the second they got on the bus. On the way back they were drunk, loud, disrespectful and didn’t wear their masks. The tour director tried to talk them down, but couldn’t. Twice many of the other passengers were yelling at the tour leader to kick them off the bus, which he didn’t for too long. Eventually he did kick them off, however they were on the bus 2 hours longer than they should have been. The whole bus was upset by these drunk, swearing, yelling people. The tour leader didn’t take charge soon enough.

We were picked up in our town, which was nice. But so many people can not arrive on time, it started to get a bit annoying with time. The whole bus has to wait while someone is still buying coffee somewhere. The whole trip was a great experience and generally everything was fine, except the local guide on Rock Tour. I was in English speaking group and the guide said just few phrases in English, the rest was audio in French. Also Gibraltar can offer so much more. I'd rather stay a few hours longer and pay a bit more. The tour upstairs was very rushed. Tour guide Miguel was very nice and helpful.

The best part of the visit was the local guide who drove us around town and explained a great deal about history and current life on Gibraltar. The fact that Britain owns it because it was a permanent gift from Spain was fascinating. The amount of land reclamation that has occurred was amazing. We walked up the hill after the tour didn't make it to the top, but got up to about 300 meters and the view was worth the uphill hike. The funniest part was how the road going in goes right across the runway for the one and only airstrip. Seeing St. Michael's Cave and the monkeys was a plus.

This tour should have been completed in 5-6 hours but it took 12 hours because the tour bus kept picking people along the way by going out of the way to their hotels, whereas we that started at the initial departure point were not afforded that luxury. It should have taken only 1.5 hours each way; instead it took 3.5 hours. The tour guide that accompanied us in the bus herself was deriding this fact blaming the company and didn’t take any responsibility. They were not considerate to us that started early and we did not even get a chance to get coffee or breakfast because of that nonsense.Total waste of 6 hours in travels. The actual tour of Gibraltar lasted only 1.5 hours and the British tour guide was hilarious and informative. He made up for some of the negatives of going with this tour company. Suggest contacting Gibraltar tours directly to avoid this inconvenience. STAY AWAY FROM THIS TOUR BUS COMPANY.

In total all you get is 3.5 hours in Gibraltar from an 11 hour day! far too many hotel stops, my advise would be have one bus for Malaga, one for Torremolinos, one for Fuengirola and one for Marbella

Very nice experience, so near to Malaga..in total a 12 h trip, having to pick up and leave a lot of tourists from many hotels on the way. The munkeys are the main attraction, they come very close but it's forbidden to touch and feed them. Bring £ if you don't have revolut.

Great experience! Great tour guides! We had so much fun exploring Gibraltar. Just note that you will be on the bus for a while with all the bus stops to and from, worth it, but wanted to note that it is a large portion of your day.

We knew that in one day tour we cannot make most of Gibraltar so we are completely alright with the program :) Anyway, tour was a bit chaotic and unorganized. The worst thing was that we happened to end in English - French bus - tour was in French(we do not speak French ) , after French description bus driver started to speak loudly in English but first - we didn’t hear that much and second - what was said in French in 2 minutes he was capable to do in 2 seconds - “here is the library”

I read the poor reviews of Julia Travel before booking and thought it really couldn't be that bad. It was worse. This was rank amateur hour - as if someone who had never worked in travel, decided the night before to make a few quid and cobbled together a tour to Gibraltar the next day. How this company is still in business, is beyond me. I have never come across such an unprofessional, ramshackle tour operator in all my life. It starts with your ticket. Luckily, I had read reviews highlighting the fact that you need to let JT know 48 hours before your trip that you will be attending. What weird nonsense! I've just purchased a ticket - that signals my attendance. At any rate, on the ticket is a phone number. I rang the number and the woman who answered sounded confused and told me it was the Barcelona office, advising me to call the Torremolinos office and gave me the number. The number was out of order, so I googled to find the office was temporarily closed (as in a hiatus, not as in it was out of hours). I rang the BCN office back querying this. No-one had any clue or how to help me and after a while, could only keep repeating that I should send an email to confirm my attendance. How can one office not know whether another is open or not or know that their number is on the ticket or not know what we are supposed to do, to confirm our attendance, as the company demands? And why is the wrong number on the ticket? I sent an email as instructed, to be duly castigated in the JT reply for not contacting the Malaga office. Guess what, I'm not telepathic. Your staff seem to have no clue how to deal with customers. You should know that in Spain, the customer is always wrong. Even if staff screw up, it's always your fault. The chaos continued. There is a specific meeting point specified on the ticket. In response to my confirmation email above, I received different instructions. I went with the ones on the ticket. Neither were correct. Had it not been for some other people - standing at the same stop as me - having noticed a coach (it doesn't have JT on it, so I would never have guessed) in a different location, I would have been left behind. I got to the wrong stop early, to get a good seat. As it was, by the time the others spotted the coach and we reached it, we were almost the last in the queue. Hello? They say a picture speaks a thousand words. These people haven't clicked that a simple map showing the pick-up point would negate all confusion. Next point. All but about four seats on the coach were filled at the first stop. The queue was massive and getting people on the bus took ages. No modern technology here, such as scanning a bar code - it was checking names off a list. Then we stopped twice more to pick people up. En route, the guide gave minimal information. In fact, in all, I'm not sure what he was there for (read on). He barely said anything. After fannying about at the pick-up, we then stopped at a service station and there was more fannying about. Finally, we arrived in Gibraltar. Then there was colossal fannying about in the coach park. If, like me, you booked a trip from a defined place in a defined language and expected one pick up and a tour in one language, think again. JT maximise their profits by not only picking up at various stops and having multiple languages on the same bus, they also mix two tours - the shopping one and the guided tour one. This meant that at the coach park, it took ages to sort people into languages and then groups small enough to fit into a third party's minibuses. It was chaos and so disorganised - really as if it was the first time this was being done. Yes, be aware that JT do not carry the tour out - it is farmed out. We stood around forever being herded about. It was so tedious and frustrating. The minibus looked - and felt - as if it had seen its best days in 1973. I felt as if I was on a tour in Mumbai in some rickety tin can. Finally on it, we waited ages to leave. It really seemed as if the driver had been yanked off the street as a last minute stand-in and had no clue what he was supposed to be doing. He disappeared for ages, then finally returned with some boxes of tech. He had no idea how to use the items and fiddled about for ages trying to get them to work. Finally, we set off. Then it became apparent what was in the box - a head-set and USB sticks on which were the guide voice-over in a language other than English. Ge this: the DRIVER drove the mini-van, gave the explanations in English (the head-set didn't work), then pushed various buttons on the stereo to get the voice-over to play in another language (when he remembered) - and whilst that was playing he pointed things out with his hands. How absolutely ridiculous and dangerous is that? Really unsafe. I mean, disgusting. Concentrate on driving. The original tour guide was with us in the mini-bus. He did absolutely nothing. What was he there for? He spoke several languages fluently, so why didn't he do the explanations? As for the explanations - ha! Hilarious. You got a few words here and there and the driver even made mistakes not referring to places correctly, then correcting himself after the recorded voice had done the explanation in the other language (giving the correct info). I mean, you learnt absolutely nothing. It was the most unprofessional, amateur thing ever. The original tour guide was with us in the mini-bus. He did absolutely nothing. It was an absolute joke. The whole tour is done in an hour or so. All you get are these few words whilst driving around, a short stop to see the sea and the lighthouse and only TWENTY MINUTES to see the monkeys, the view and the caves. This was the part I was looking forward to the most and you have no opportunity to wander around the rock and take in the nature reserve. Then, you are dropped off back at the coach park and have some free time. I actually couldn't believe it when we were told that the coach leaves for Spain at 3pm - yes 3pm!! All in all, you have only about 4 hours in Gibraltar. You should also note that despite traffic on the way back and multiple drop-offs, we got to the last stop at 5.45pm. So the company are conning customers telling them they will return at 7pm. Absolute con. Finally, the piece de resistance: the tour guide left us before we got to the last stop. I mean, given the unprofessionalism of the rest of the trip, this fitted in perfectly. I have never heard of a tour guide leaving customers before the trip is over. Heads-up JT: the trip is over once the last person has left the coach at the final destination. The tour guide should stay until the end. I mean, really laughable! I wouldn't go another trip with this ramshackle company if they were giving them away free. Take the train to Gibraltar and see the sights yourself, at your own pace and take a guide book if you actually want to learn something. The guide was nice and spoke multiple languages (even if he didn't really do much) and the main coach was in good condition, clean and had air con. The driver also did a good job. That's all I have to say that's positive, really, about the service offered by JT. I enjoyed my time in Gibraltar and I'm glad I went, but will have to go back to see the sights properly.

The bus driver left me at the pick up stop. I told him I was scheduled for the Gibraltar trip and all he said was autobus shook his head closed the door in my face and drove off. The bus was label Julia tours so I knew I was Kim the right place but he left me anyways. So I contacted the company and they said it was my fault. And the switch my trip to the next day. And cancelled my Caminito Del Rey to due to weather. When I shown up the next day to the same bus I was able to board. However this tour guide left another guest at the terminal in Gibraltar and blamed her. Then charged another saying she only paid for transport. Then on the way back pressured some of us to switch busses to make the travel back more convenient. I think this company looks poorly to Viator and should be banned from the site.

My kids and I enjoyed the Gibraltar tour. Just a few words though, on the point that the tour didn't follow the description given here at the Viator site. First of all, the visit on the Rock was after the visit to the Main Street. From the description you'd think it was the other way round. The given time at the Main Street was 2 hours, not 3 hours as promised. The trip up to the Rock was done on minibuses, which were not air conditioned. Luckily the day of our visit was not very hot. The visit to the cave was 20 minutes, not 1 hour as promised. Then we got 10 minutes to see the view and meet the monkeys, not 20 minutes. After the tour to the Rock we were then given 40 minutes to enjoy the bus carage, where there was a kiosk/coffee shop and a souvenir shop. Our driver, who took us up the Rock, David, was super cool and nice, full five stars for him!

It was a nice trip out, but knowing how long it took traveling would be great. 3hrs each way from Málaga due to picking up everyone from different locations. Cave was good to see and the monkeys. We felt a bit rushed in the town but got some cheap bargains. Gin UK was £29 here £16, cigs were £25 a pack. To improve they could break up the journey better.

Dejando aparte las posibles compras (parece que solo tabaco y alcohol merecen la pena), la roca tiene su belleza y de la mano de un guía como el que nos tocó en suerte pudimos gozar de ella.
