A wild land where mountains drop straight into the sea and delightful towns such as Kotor and Budva, cling to the coastline on the route south from the border with Croatia.
The border of Montenegro is only about 40 km away from Dubrovnik.
In Montenegro we drive along the main coastal road through few small and nice places directly by the sea. From the small town Kamenari we take the ferry to the other coast site crossing the whole bay of Kotor-Risan.
On the other site, after a beautiful drive through the town Tivat and the nature of Montenegro, we arrive to Budva.
Budva – a 3 500 years old town which makes it one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic Sea coast. It is the capital of Montenegrin tourism and the administrative centre of Budva municipality. Scholars and historians believe that the old town part of Budva originally was an island, which later joined the shore to form a sand isthmus. You will have up to 2 hours to explore the old town part of Budva with its interesting narrow streets and old churches before we drive directly to the next famous town - Kotor.
The old town of Kotor is a well obtained centre from the Middle Ages, built between the 12. and the 14. Century, with many Latin and Gothic churches, facades, palaces and museums.
You will have about 2 and half hours time to explore also this city.
Please do not forget to take your passport or an identity card with you on this trip and of course a camera with enough memory so you can think of this great day you had, over and over.
