** Due to limited capacity, climbing the 241 stairs to the Gaztelugatxe hermitage is not guaranteed. Instead, you would first visit the town on the Biscayan coast Mundaka, known worldwide for its waves and fishing tradition, and then a stop would be made to enjoy a panoramic view of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe from the viewpoint.

Our guide Pascu made our half day tour such a pleasure! He is a warm, friendly, knowledgeable and funny guide! Pascu loves sharing insight into Basque culture and feels so much pride about this beautiful region. He picked us up on time in a very clean van, immediately learned all 8 of our names, and seemed excited to show us villages, each more beautiful than the next (according to him). When my kids were tired, Pascu gently joked with them. Our group spoke 3 different languages and he patiently translated things multiple times. I’d definitely take another tour with him, and highly recommend him!Our driver Elba was fabulous. A lovely day. Didn’t realize exactly where we were going first stop,and the climb back up,but it was worth it. Guggenheim much smaller than we thought. 1.5 hours plenty. Car exhibits amazing..perfect day.
