The tour begins with pickup from your accommodation anywhere in Dublin, at your chosen start time. An early start is recommended to get the most out of your day, however you can start your tour as late as 1pm in the afternoon during the summer time and 10am during the winter. It gets dark around 5pm throughout December and January and the darkness may spoil some of the beautiful scenery.
You will get to visit and experience many of Dublin city's most popular sights. Expect to see the Jeanie Johnson, Trinity College (Book of Kells), St Patricks Cathedral, Kilmainham Gaol, Guinness store House, Malahide Castle, Portmarnock, Howth Village and the Summit and the Phoenix Park. This tour allows you to explore the whole of Dublin in one day. It is a great way to discover where you would like to explore more during your stay in Ireland.
This private tour can be as flexible as you like with regard to where you want to stop and take your time and which stops you would prefer to just browse on past. If you've found a new sight you'd love to explore just let your guide know and they'll work their way through the city to accommodate the extra stop and include it within the tour time frame.
Your driver will provide entertaining stories about growing up in Ireland including old and ancient tales about old Ireland. They will also offer great advice on where to stop off and have lunch.

Some of our guides are taxi drivers. We use taxis because this enables the use of the bus lanes helping to fit in more sights and destinations and avoid being stuck in traffic throughout the day. Our guide Allen took us on a private tour that we set up prior to arrival. There were sites we wanted to see so he deviated from the regular tour. He went out of his way to show us the things and the countryside we were most interested in. He made it a wonderful adventure and we were more than delighted with everything.
I would highly recommend this tour. Tour guide, Alan was so friendly and helpful. He tailored the tour to what we wanted to see. He knows his history and knows the area!
Allan was very knowledgeable about Ireland’s history and main attractions. Very courteous. Truly enjoyed spending the day with him.
Vincent was an incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and professional guide. I saw a lot of Dublin in 1 day. Only recommendation is this is a better value for 4 people. Would be nice if they offered a lower rate for us solo travelers who want to maximize our time in Dublin.
Best way to see Dublin is taking a tour with Allan who knows all things Dublin and Ireland. He is very flexible, knowledgeable and passionate about his work. Would strongly recommend spending your first day or two in Ireland with Alan. You can see a lot more with a guide than attempting to explore on your own.
Robbie was fantastic. He is very knowledgeable, humorous and went out of his way to make sure we got to see what we wanted to see
We were picked up at the hotel by Alan who is an amazing source of knowledge and looked after us brilliantly throughout the day. Although we had booked a Dublin city tour Alan happily adapted the itinerary to include some places outside the city centre that we had expressed an interest in seeing. We both had a great day.
Alan, was an amazing tour guide he took us to places and sights we would have never been able to see on a tour bus. My father can not walk long distances and uses a wheelchair for long distances, Alan made sure that my father was able to participate and see everything every able person is able to do. When my father wasn't able to participate in certain activities Alan went out of his way to take my father to a cafe, drink coffee and pastries, and stayed with my father even pushing him in the wheelchair. I would recommend Alan and this tour it was an amazing experience and Alan made us feel like a part of the Irish culture and family!
Learned SOO much on this tour. Although we were jet lagged since we took the tour right off the plane, our guide did a nice job of trying to keep us engaged and interested. We had a lovely lunch at a local pub and got a chance to learn quite a bit of history. Ireland is such a rich country. Taking this tour enabled us to appreciate and understand a lot of the tours we did thereafter such as the Dublin Castle. Nice way to spend our first day in Dublin.
