The Dolomites are some of the most spectacular terrain in the world, and going with a personal guide is by far the best way to see them. You do not want to drive these roads yourself!
Alessandro was knowledgeable and his English was perfect. He took us everywhere we wanted to go and knew all the best places. He scheduled our arrivals to attractions so that we would arrive before the tour buses and his driving was excellent. We highly recommend Alessandro.
We had a amazing guide and got too see all the beautiful places in dolomites. It was truly an experience!
This was a very good excursion into the Western Dolomites provided by our guide Alex. Alex is professional in his work and passionate about his business and everything ran very smoothly from pick up to drop off. The tour is leisurely, the sights and views are spectacular and Alex provides expert advice and commentary as you go. Don't miss the cable car to the top at Pordoi Pass. The views from the top are magnificent. A great day out!
1st of all words cannot describe how breath taking this tour was and what an amazing part of our holiday this was thanks to our fabulous guide and the beautiful scenery.
From someone that has travelled a lot and has done many tours and seen many sites I can honestly say this was the best experience hands down.
What made it so beautiful is the scenic nature but what truly made it memorable was the wealth of knowledge that Alex had it was just incredible.
The enthusiasm and passion Alex has for his home land and nature really captivates you.
Alex was so thoughtful that he gave everyone water bottles during our journey. Alex also brought with him jackets just in case we got cold when we went up 3000 meters above sea level to see some breath taking sites.
Im not one to usually write posts but if you are thinking of doing this tour DO NOT HESITATE !! Book any tour with . and you will hands down have an amazing experience whilst being provided with a passionate guide who truly has a connection with the land and nature.
Alex what else can I say other than THANK YOU .. for one of the most memorable trips and excursions ever!
I look forward to the next adventure with you sometime down in the future.
Your number one fan from Australia
This tour was incredible - easily the highlight of our trip. We were able to do and see so much more than we would have if we had been on our own.
We went up the cable car to Sass Pordoi the lift ticket is not included, but it is worth it!, and we were also able to stop and do a little hike, visit one of the local towns, and enjoy the views. Alex, our guide, was a very safe driver, and an expert on the region. He had very interesting things to share about all of the places we went, and even packed extra supplies in case we weren't dressed for the weather. He does a fantastic job. The Dolomites are absolutely stunning. Take this tour!
I can highly recommend this tour. Alex was informative and congenial and spoke English fluently. It was good value for the money.
Agree with all the other reviews - absolutely brilliant tour and Alex is an exceptionally safe and careful driver as well as being a lovely person who clearly enjoys sharing this region and knowledge with others. Would recommend to anyone and will certainly book in with him again when we return to that area of Italy. Fantastic that he will pick up/return you to your hotel as well we were staying in Merano.
Last week a colleague and I enjoyed this marvellous road trip. After spending a couple of days locked away in a conference venue in Bolzano, we were keen to explore the grandeur and wonder of the famous Dolomites, as efficiently and effectively as possible on our last free day before leaving the region. Our driver and host, Alex, was exceptional, tailoring the tour to weather and seasonal conditions. He was informative, a very safe driver, and an extremely warm local host. I would highly recommend this tour. It is exceptional value and you will come away with lasting memories of this unique region and of your tour host.
As 2 seniors from Sydney Australia who took this tour in August 2017 we fully agree with the positive reviews of others. We happened to go on a Wednesday not realising this was holiday time and how much traffic there might be and also that one of the passes would be closed, but this did not faze Alex. He was such a patient competent driver and took us around the long way which added to our trip. The scenery was fantastic. It was so nice to leave the driving to someone else so we could take everything in and take numerous photos. Alex is very fluent in English, has an easy going nature, is very enthusiastic, has great knowledge of the local area and its history and is very thorough and likeable. He even contacted us prior to the tour to confirm the pickup to ensure everything ran smoothly. All this made this tour a must do when in the Dolomites. Many thanks, B and K
Alex did a great job introducing us to the Dolomites. Picked us up in Bolzano at our hotel. He's a native of the area, so could give us a lot of local knowledge. He took us to some beautiful sites and even gave us time to take the cable car to the top and have lunch there. I would highly recommend this tour as an introduction to the area. He gave us some excellent ideas on place to eat and things to see on our own the next day.
Alex was a fantastic guide for this amazing day trip! He truly has a passion for his home area. He was very knowledgeable about the Dolomites and answered our questions easily. We would recommend this trip to anyone. The Dolomites are not to be missed!! Thanks Alex!
This is a great tour. The scenery was amazing. The host Alex is great. He is very knowledgeable, personable and professional. We would highly recommend this tour and would go on other tours with Alex without hesitation.
Alex was on time. Very knowledgeable about the area. English is very good. Friendly. Extra jackets, umbrellas and water. Safe driver. Really enjoyed every moment of the trip. Took some beautiful photos. Good value for money. Highly recommend it. Thanks again Alex.
Alex was so great at answering emails very fast. The trip was one of the best I have ever been on Alex knows the area and history which was nice of the mountains and castles you will see. Having a guide like Alex is a blessing let my pics from the tour speak for themselves. Would book again no worry
Our trip to northern Italy and the Sud Tryol was made complete with this fantastic car tour. Our driver Alex is a native Italian who loves his home region, and who seems to really enjoy showing others why the Dolomites are one one of the most beautiful places on earth. Every minute of the six hour plus tour was interesting - the time just flew by! Our understanding of the area was so enhanced by having a chance to talk to such an engaging person. The scenery was spectacular going up the mountain, on top, and coming down through the beautiful Gardena countryside. We had much more access to the area than we would have ever had on our own. The pick-up and drop-off at our Balzano hotel was very convenient and accomodating. This tour was truly money-well-spent for our group of three. I would highly recommend it, especially those travellers relying on public transportation during their stay in Italy. Thank you Alex!
There is only one way to see the dazzling Dolomites: and this is by taking this Great Dolomites Road tour that takes in all gthe beauty and majesty of this area that is not world famous for nothing. And when you have a guide like Aleksander who is a font of information that is interesting and never boring, the day is complete. The driver will pick you up at your hotel in Bolzano and drop you off at the same place. He is not the sort of bloke who would do his six or seven hours and say ciao but would go the extra mile to make sure that you miss nothing. All in all, it was one hell of a day and one that my wife and I will not forget in a hurry. One tip: make sure you have an extra battery in your camera because you'll be seeing a million-dollar view every five minutes.
Words cannot describe the amazing experience we had on our tour of the Dolomites with Alex. He is an encyclopedia of knowledge of the area and his passion for these magnificent mountains is amazing. He picked us up at our hotel at the scheduled time and from the minute we sat in the car we felt at home with this man who was as excited about the adventure as we were. He guided us to all the picturesque photo spots and nothing was a problem for him. Murray and I will definitely recommend this fabulous tour to all our friends and highly recommend it to anybody who wants to see the Dolomites with someone who takes the time and care to share the beauty of the area.
My husband and I booked this tour without any pending reviews on Viator as it was listed as a new tour but we really wanted to see the Dolomites while we were in the area so we gave it a shot. We can say with 100 certainty that it was worth every penny. This tour was amazing. It was exactly as the description provides and so much more. The tour guide Alex is a pleasure to work with and is extremely knowledgeable about the area. He knew when to stick to the schedule and when to improvise based on our preferences. He was very thorough and pleasant. We had so much fun chatting with him and he served as a great photographer, knowing all the best locations for the best photos! We arranged the pickup at our hotel instead of Bolzano, which our guide accommodated without hesitation despite our hotel being about half an hour from Bolzano. Later, following the tour, he dropped us in Bolzano so we could explore the tour. He was then SO KIND to pick us back up after we enjoyed the city for a few hours and complete the drive back to our hotel so we did not have to take the train/taxi back to our hotel near Merano. It was completely out of the realm of his duties as a tour guide and we could not be more grateful to him for that! The Dolomite region is exquisite and is something everyone should see if they are in the Bolzano, Merano, South Tyrol region. Following this tour, we're already trying to plan our next trip back so that we can ski and enjoy some of the villages that Alex showed us. Definitely book this tour, you won't regret it!!!
