Fatumah was an absolute amazing guide! We spent the day together touring some of the most popular spots in Kampala! Traveling on my own I have struggled to get pictures of myself throughout Uganda and she offered to take many pictures for me! She helped me to navigate the craft market and gain more comfortability exploring Kampala! She even offered to meet me back at the market to gather some more gifts! I highly highly highly recommend this walking tour!

One word: impressive. Fatumah (the guide) has not only an extensive knowledge of the in and outs of Kampala, her passion and love for the city’s history make this one of the best guided tours I have taken. It was a privilege.

We really enjoyed our walking tour with Fatumah, her warmth/easy laughter and local knowledge was great. She got in touch by WhatsApp before the tour to confirm time and place of meeting and introduce herself and when she met us she told us what the plan was for the walk upfront - giving us opportunities for drinking and shopping breaks. Given the (beautiful) chaos of Kampala her punctuality, sense of organization and calm was fantastic. We would never have found our way through the maze of markets without her and as a woman I really appreciated another woman showing me the way and looking out for our safety. This was a great way to get a feel for Kampala and Uganda’s history, politics and cuisine. Thank you Fatumah!

I loved it, highly recommended! Rosette is a very kind, honest, intelligent and helpfull woman, who knows her way around Kampala and made me feel safe. She gave me a private tour, showed and told me about the history and present of Kampala. We saw the independence monument, she took me to fabric shops where they dressed me in three different traditional weddingdresses (extra fee, she told me in advance and didn't impose at all), helped me to buy some fabric for a good price (loved to see her arguing in Luganda to get me a fair price!) showed me the Nakasero Hindu Temple and the colorfull beauty and hardworking women of Nakasero Market where she bought me some very sweet mango's. I invited her for lunch, she knew a place with a good few on the old taxi park, where we shared a dish of typical and very fresh Ugandan vegetables and Tilapiafish from Victoria lake. Finally she took me by Uber tot the Buganda King's Palace, and helped to get me a safe bodaboda to drive me back. The costs on TripAdvisor are confusing: calling it Free Tours and then charging €29,10 (15% tot TripAdvisor). She explained it isn't free anymore because of the difficult Covid time, but the TripAdvisor text wasn't adapted yet. I completely understand (and I tipped her anyway, she fully deserved it and she was very generous with her time) So if you are reading this: don't hesitate any longer! Rosette, thank you for an unforgettable day, the open and serious talks and the laughter we shared. You are such a strong, intelligent and beautifull woman. Tot ziens in Nederland!

We had a nice tour with a good overview of Kampala. Nakasero market and the mosque are a must seen. Rosette is very flexible and made us feel comfortable is the crazy downtown Kampala. She even took us to a traditional African restaurant for lunch break. The only drawback is that you will need to take ubers between different locations, which takes time and triggers additional costs. Otherwise I recommend!

Had a wonderful time with Rosette! She taught me about the city, made me feel safe to be walking solo, and helped me to better appreciate all Kampala has to offer. I loved going to the craft market, where she helped me find the best vendors with the best prices (something only a local can successfully do!). It was a great afternoon together, filled with laughter and learning. When I’m back in Kampala, I’ll be signing up for another tour!

Hannah is one of the best people I met in Kampala! The tour was amazing and educational, and she answered every question I had. As a solo female traveler she made sure I felt completely safe the entire time and went at my pace. I enjoyed the city and the intimacy of the walk. She introduced me to really cool local people. My favorite moment was the market tour. We spoke to local farmers who drove in the produce that morning and I was able to sample some different fruits (my favorite being passionfruit of course). The tour ended with some authentic Ugandan coffee overlooking the city. We spent the entire day laughing and talking about the differences in our country.

We had such a great time with Rosette and Jules! It was our first time in Kampala and we were a little nervous to explore on our own - this tour not only took us through some city highlights and to some delicious food, but gave us confidence to continue discovering the city for the rest of our time in Kampala. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful day that gave me an excellent overview of Kampala. The Caribou Restaurant, our meeting spot, was easy to get to. Hanna and Rosette, our guides, were lovely and very knowledgeable. We first visited the Independence Monument then walked through the hustle and bustle of the city center. Lots of opportunity for photography. Opportunity to sample local food at a restaurant and a boda boda ride. Visited the Nakasero Market and the magnificent Sikh Temple. Finally the Old Kampala Mosque and climbed the minaret for a panoramic view of Kampala. A very enjoyable day! Be aware that tipping of the knowledgeable guide at the Mosque is expected.

We had a great Free Tour of Kampala's historical buildings and Uganda Museum with the ladies at Free Walking Tours Kampala. It's truly an amazing way to get out of home and explore the city like never before. You only pay a tip after the tour. We called Rosette and Hannah last minute. They were flexible with us and immediately we joined the team. Don't get stuck home during this time of lockdown because all their tours highly respect Covid-19 SOP's . Get out and learn about your city and history. Edgar
