Matacanes Canyon tour is definately breath taking and for sure one of the best canyoning I´ve ever done in my life. I do not regret a single peso I spent for the trip. After the rip I immediately wanted to repeat the experience, but rather I´ve chosen another offered adventure by Gaia Xtreme.

Experience is genuinely amazing I thought maybe it way be a bit over hyped but was everything and more. From the repels to 12 meter (optional) jumps genuinely one of the best experiences I’ve had in Mexico so far. The guides really try to give you the pace your looking after and it was cave and surprises one after another

The tour was super cool. The nature, vegetaion and caves are out of this world. The staff was also super nice and fun. Only the equipment could be a little newer and they had to few wetsuits in the right size. But all in all I can totally recommend the trip.

We were in town for a concert and decided to book this looking for a little adventure and this definitely delivered. This journey takes you into the canyons of the local area where you’ll find stunning views of the surrounding valleys and waterfalls around every corner. From repelling down cliff sides to jumping into streams it was definitely challenging at times, but we left feeling a little more confident and proud of what we accomplished. Shout out to our guides Alex, Lily, and Omar who did a great job making the trip as safe as possible while keeping our spirits up, you can tell they love what they do.

This is -- as advertised -- a once in a lifetime experience. I moved to MTY almost 5 years ago and I regret not doing this at least once a year. Better late than never. The service was excellent, the guides were safety-oriented and reassuring, and seemed adaptable to the group's pace and particular needs. I will definitely use this service again for Matacanes and other adventures as well. Tip: bring a small pouch for an extra (sealed) snack. Breakfast well.

We’ve already done canyoning in a different countries and had some expectations but matacanes exceeded all our expectations. The tour was long but very nice and we’ve experienced so much. There was jumping, sliding down, rappel and even floating through a cave. It was just an experience i’d tell everyone to experience. Our guide was very competent and a lot of fun. I never had the feeling that I need to be scared. Huge recommendation!

This was definitely my most favorite tour out of all the tours I’ve done on my trips! the area is breathtaking and extremely beautiful. I would definitely recommend this your to anyone visiting Monterrey or Santiago. It was so much fun being able to swim, rappel, and jump into the water. The tour guides also have a great sense of humor and definitely fulfill the experience!

This is one of the coolest and best tour I have ever been on. The guides were so kind and helpful. The views were absolutely stunning and movie like. I highly recommend going on this experience. If you do make sure to bring shoes with good traction as well as workout gloves. Also if you rent a go pro make sure to turn it off after every picture/video you take because it will die half way through, and try not to record everything to soon there is so much!

We did the Extreme canyoning in Matacanes with the option of sleeping in cabins the night before. It was just amazing. The area where the cabins were located was very beautiful. The dinner and breakfast were delicious and the cabins were clean. Regarding the canyoning itself, the experience was unforgettable. The landscapes were really beautiful, the instructors were professionals and supportive. The route lasted about 10 hours including about three hours of walking before and after the canyoning (2 hours before and one hour later). I would say that the highest mandatory jump was about 4 meters. Then, there were some optional jumps up to 12 meters. And two rappels of 27 and 18 meters. I would definitely recommend the experience :)

I would like to share our experience of traveling on matacanes. We were taken from the city and brought to a very beautiful and atmospheric camp. There were all conditions for an overnight stay, a delicious dinner and a cozy gathering around the campfire. We were well instructed before the hike, given equipment and led on. Our experience turned out to be wonderful. Very beautiful nature, lots of jumps into the water, water slides, rope descents. All instructors carefully monitored the group and helped the participants. We really liked the organization of the tour, the hike itself was 10/10. I recommend this agency to everyone!

My guides were Alex and Omar, amazing guides. They know the canyon un and down and give you guidance, encouragement and motivation from beginning to end. The canyon is breathtaking. Gaia extreme does need to update their harnesses and wetsuits. They did not have my size and the water is very cold, at least at the beginning. Otherwise, I’m definitely doing it again and bringing my daughter with me.

Its was an amazing experience. The tour guides were really nice ans attentive. We were given breakfast, snacks and after some very good taquitos. Were picked up in a location and returned as well. Its a completr package fully recommend to do the adventure with them. 2 thumbs up!!

I wanted this trip with my daughter as a Mother’s Day gift. I thought I was fit for the tour ( I made it and did not slow down the group lol) but Mother Nature proved me that I needed to work a bit more on my physical endurance/resistance. The tour started with a pick up at a Walmart at 4:30 and ended up leaving us there as well at around 7:00pm. Thee is an option of sleeping close to start site and you could wake up later, like around 6:00 am. However, our tour guy and girl made us feel comfortable and safe. If you like nature and adrenaline rush (like me), I highly recommend this tour. I had never done rock climbing and they gave us a 3 min inservice and we made it down the mountain. Of course this is like beginners levels, but the nature scenarios that I saw where breath taking. Don’t hesitates and go have fun, there will be no regrets

This tour is an adventure from the first minute to the last. You will do a 35 meter descent by rapelling, swim in completely dark caves, and jump from 12 meter cliffs. Adrenaline all over the place. Gaia Xtreme is your best choise to do it - organization is flawless: punctual, professional, excellent guidance through the course, helpful. You will also get a light breakfast before the start, and a light lunch during the course. You will also get the chance to rent a GoPro camera to save your memories.

Extreme is a powerful word in this excursion! No one could be prepared for the beauty and endurance needed to accomplish this activity! Days later 2 50 year old Americans, nursing our knees could not be happier about our accomplishment and memories shared for a long time to come! We understood very little Spanish, and yet our guides were very accommodating, and just awesome! Several things we would do different learn Spanish, bring a waterproof, backpack, socks, and water shoes with good grip, Tupperware to hold sandwich’s, two water bottles to drink and refill with spring water along the way. I wore a long sleeve UV shirt and 3/4 length workout Lycra spandex, perfect combination! This was an amazing trip, and would definitely do it again!

It was a long day but so worth it! The guides Omar and Eduardo were super friendly and helpful. Matacanes is a really unique place and has a lot of natural beauty and unspoiled nature. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting MTY who is looking for adventure.
