My partner and I had a brilliant time taking this cooking class. Food Playground are very professional and well-run, and we came away much more knowledgeable. Thanks so much to Annie and the rest of the team for a great experience and top class teaching. We are cooking forward to making nasi lemak at home!

Fantastic cooking class in the heart of Singapore's Chinatown. We cooked a menu of classics including Nasi Lemak - all from scratch. Before we started cooking, we also had a brief crash course on local delicacies and how to order them in hawker centres etc. Even though I have Singaporean heritage and regularly visit, this was really interesting and helpful. Instructor Annie was both very knowledgeable and lively throughout - while being extremely attentive to each participant. The kitchen was very calm and clean. I can't wait to cook these dishes at home and Annie was very helpful in discussing substitutes for hard-to-find ingredients. I think this is a fantastic course to do while visiting Singapore and I am already planning future visits to Food Playground to try out different menus.

Our instructor, Annie, was a joy as she shared both her knowledge and her heart for Singaporean cooking. She was encouraging as we went along. Another fun feature was meeting people from other places. In our case, we had a fellow American couple, a lady from the Netherlands, another from Perth, Australia and one local Singaporean woman. It was fun to share stories. Finally, the food itself was excellent, especially the chicken curry and roti jala

Great way to learn how to cook a few local dishes, while understanding more about Singaporean heritage. Our instructor was fantastic, and ensured an engaging and fun experience. Also very convenient location right in the centre of China town. Would definitely recommend!

As the world gets smaller and cultures blend, one thing that remains unique is food. I think that learning to make a dish from place you are visiting is the best way to experience the culture. A recipe, is my favorite souvenir. The class at food playground was one of our best experiences in food travel. Not only did we make unique traditional recipes, we learned about other foods from Singapore. For example; a carrot cake dish that is not cake! You will take home your best memory by taking this class. I highly recommend it.

This experience was 5 star and I highly recommend for all ages. This is my first visit to Singapore and I’m so glad I attended the class. Annie, our host, is not only a great cook and educator but a lovely individual with a big heart. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the culture as well as the local food. The food we prepared was amazing. I am looking forward to cooking it once I return home. Annie and the owner Daniel were very accommodating to my gluten and dairy free needs which for me is very important. Our class was a lot of fun and interactive and gave the opportunity to meet other travelers. I took this class at the beginning of my visit and hope to fit in another class before I have to return home.
