A lunar landscape, native plants, fresh and old lava flows, volcanic ash dunes, a huge valley (Valle del Bove) and of course lots of lateral craters (not actives anymore) and the summit craters (the active ones) with steam, degassing and sometimes explosions. This is Mt. Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Hiking trails, elevation, panoramic views and areas to visit will be decided in agreement with our staff

We specifically chose this tour as it was a private tour and could choose what we wanted so liaised directly with the tour company to go up Etna as far as we could via cable or 4x4 and also fit in a trip to Alcantara. The tour company LemonTours were great in their communication with us and confirming everything we wanted. Unfortunately the 2 star rating is because of the tour guide, Andrea. He totally took away from what should have been an amazing experience. He didnt seem to understand what we had organised with the tour company and seemed put out by all we had requested being negative about the weather and what we wanted to get out of the day. He rushed everything so much so we were back 1.5hrs earlier than the tour company said we would be, was rude, unfriendly and had minimal interaction with us. Book this tour but hope you don't get him as your guide.tom_c

Il giorno prima di partire sono stato avvisato che il mio tour non poteva essere svolto per mancanza di guide. Il tour prevedeva l'arrivo alla bocca del vulcano ed il giorno prima, dopo 7 mesi di attività del vulcano, ci è stato detto che non c'era la possibilità di arrivarci. In tutto ciò ho dov...
Il giorno prima di partire sono stato avvisato che il mio tour non poteva essere svolto per mancanza di guide. Il tour prevedeva l'arrivo alla bocca del vulcano ed il giorno prima, dopo 7 mesi di attività del vulcano, ci è stato detto che non c'era la possibilità di arrivarci. In tutto ciò ho dovuto spendere altri soldi perché all'ultimo siamo stati accorpati ad un'altro tour. Unica nota positiva la guida Isabella, meravigliosa. Agenzia pessima per l'organizzazione.
