Stop At: Arusha, Arusha, Arusha Region
Sidai Designs is another fair-trade initiative with the aim to empower Maasai women in the area by providing employment and support and by selling beautiful handmade Maasai crafts, like jewellery, wall hangings (I LOVE their chevron wall hangings – super stylish) and glassware.
Whilst you are there you can take a tour of the workshop and also have a go at making your own jewellery.
The key feature is the Mara River and there is a great chance to see the herds cross the Mara River to the north on one day and back south a few days later. Please note that it can be very difficult to witness crossing and is sometimes a matter of luck. A herd can be seen next to the river and only decide to cross a couple of days later.
This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation, and open plains, similar to Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Serengeti Migration Safari was a wonderful experience. We had 4 nights in the Serengeti National Park, comfort Lodging. It was exceptional for wildlife, scenery, accommodations, food, transportation and our guide. The next part of our trip involved travelling into Ngorongoro Crater. We loved Tanzania national Parks and would go back again. The wildlife viewing was fantastic! Close views of Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Zebra...the list goes on. One of my favorite parts of the safari was the birds. There are so many beautiful birds! The weather was great. During the days the temps ranged from the 70's to 80's(F). At night the temp dropped into the 40's or 50's, cold but not bad at all. Plus the cooler temperatures means not too many bugs! I could not be pleased more with the Burigi Chato Safaris guides incredible knowledge and tracking skills. Amazing!
