This tour was great. We were able to get picked up close to our hotel (we were in old town where buses can't go so we arranged to be picked up outside the walls). The tour guide Diana was very friendly and informative. We were very happy we took the tour instead of driving as some of the roads were pretty tight. The beach was relaxing and warm. The two stops at the monetary and winery were added bonuses! I would highly recommend for anyone looking to go to Elafonissi beach from the Chania area.Good tour. Could have been better if the bus had parked closer to the beach. It was a very long walk up to the bus. The bus ride was very interesting.

The trip to Elafonissi was beautiful, as was the monastery on the way there and of course the beach itself. In details: 1) The bus ride in my opinion was quite boring, because there was not much info coming from the guide. I'd love to hear more about the island, story and whatever that's not complete silence. The views on the way were stunning though, so one also could just disappear in the beauty of the island's nature. 2) Stop at the monastery - we've had 20 minutes for exploring it by ourselves. I don't know if that's every Saturday or it's just my luck, but there was some kind of service happening and we couldn't get inside, so we just looked at the sea from the monastery's walls and checked out their museum. 3) the lagoon itself - beautiful, instagramable and not very deep which is perfect for families with children. 4) Winery - the winery tour was as basic as it can get. We were led through 3 rooms of the winery and got told about the process of winemaking. The amount of info was embarrassing - here is the press where we press grape, here are the barrels where we ferment juice, here are the barrels, where we age wine, thanks for attention. Then we were lead to wine tasting and this is where things got dangerous. You have around 15 types of wine, 2 types of Raki, 2 of olive oil and 1 of grape syrup and big bowls of bread. From here you grab a glass(es) and drink what you want and as much as you want. Unfortunately you don't get any information about wines, types of grapes used there, how to taste it, how to understand that it's a good wine and all the good stuff in what (in my opinion) a proper wine tasting session should have. Conclusion: good for those who don't care much about the information that they receive on tours and just want to get to the beach and drink (good) wine on the way back.Windy beach but otherwise great time! Perfect timing to arrive at the beach as we got our pick of the sun beds and umbrellas before it got too full. Would have appreciated more time at the winery to taste all the wines they provided. Felt a bit rush.
