E-bike Tour to Breglia with view above Menaggio
Overview
People always wonder how you reach those churches that look like dots from the ferry - perched right on the edge of the lake’s cliffs. They hold so much wonder and amazement that it is even possible to build there. We will explore two ultimate panoramas of the lake which are largely unknown to tourists. We pedal along the main mountain road until we reach the quaint hamlet of Breglia. We ride off-road through a forest to a very humble white chapel with an amazing view. It’s impossible not to be moved by the magic. Our next stop is a series of original WW1 trenches protecting some of the most incredible views of the lake.

What to expect
This tour leaves from the small village of Cardano, in the valley behind Menaggio. We e-bike from here, through the back streets of Menaggio before taking the main mountain road up towards Monte Grona (the beautiful mountains above Menaggio). We ride uphill for approximately 50 minutes. Once we arrive in the village of Breglia we head towards a hidden sanctuary. At this point we continue along a gravel path, that requires some technical off-road riding ability, to a tiny church perched on the edge of a cliff with stunning views across the lake. We head back down via an old mule track through a forest - off-road downhill riding experience is required.

- No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
- Minimum height 155 cm, minimum age 15 (under 18 years accompanied by and adult). The ability to manage an e-bike of roughly 22kg.
- Suitable clothing for an outdoor activity. No sandals or open shoes permitted.
- Some off-road downhill cycling experience required
- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- Not recommended for travelers with mobility impairments or lack of agility
- This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund
