Although the day started windy and cold the group was ready to leave promptly at 10:30am. I went by myself, but from the start I met two friendly gals from the UK who made me feel accompanied. Along the route I met another solo traveler, a pilot living near Frankfurt with whom I had great conversations throughout our walk. The walking tour took us through Museum Island and down through the Brandenburg Gate, though the Memorial of the Murdered Jews in Europe, ending in Checkpoint Charlie, stopping at the most iconic squares, buildings and sights, where our guide Tobi would explain the details of what/why/how everything had gone down throughout history. I cannot explain who grateful I am for all of the learning I acquired during these 4 hours, let’s just say that my World History Class basically ignored the historic events in Germany past WWII and I was literally a sponge to all of the info I was receiving. This walk through Berlin’s history is one for the books, I had less than 72 hours in Berlin and having done this activity was the best investment. Tobi was simply great, he went above and beyond tending to my questions about Germany’s government structures, taxing system, health system, current housing and gentrification, I mean, I can not exaggerate how much I learned in 4 hours. Next time I’m in Berlin I am doing a whole day tour (hopefully I can book With Tobi), so I can learn even more about this amazing city. Thank you Tobi!!!
Jacob was an amazing tour guide.he kept it entertaining at all times. I loved how knowledgeable, friendly and engaging he was. I took the tour because I had nothing to do that day,but I didn't know it would be one of the best things I'd do in Berlin. It's truly recommended.
Excellent tour, super knowledgable guide covering some really interesting topics. Particularly enjoyed the historical detail about the history of Germany as a nation.
A great walking tour with our knowledgeable guide Jonathan. Very good experience for a first time visitor to Berlin
Saw everything we needed to see, Walter was an insightful and engaging guide! Do it your first day so you can follow up with the highlights.
Took this tour with Gregor in February 2022. He was terrific- extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Berlin's history, culture, and art. Even though we had terrible weather, Gregor made the tour interesting and fun. Would definitely recommend!
Very knowledgeable guide (Jesse) who was happy to answer any additional questions. Great value and excellent overview of the city. Tour included all the main city sights.
We did this 4 hour tour with Tobi as our guide . He was very entertaining, pitched it perfectly for our group of 20, explaining the facts very well and told funny stories to keep everyone’s interest. Coffee stop half way round . Highly recommended!
Tobi was very informative, interesting and knowledgeable! We enjoyed learning about different periods of Berlin’s history.
This was a fantastic tour led by our fantastic guide Tobi. We learnt so much and it went above and beyond an introduction to the city. This is a must do trip!
Martin was excellent, very informative, funny and really made things make sense to someone who had very little prior knowledge starting out
Really informative, engaging and great way to get to know and understand Berlin! Jonathan the guide was great!
5 out of 5 never done a walking tour before and the information along the way was amazing and some of it shocking, out guid Tobi was so so good friendly funny and really made an effort to talk to us along the route as well as the information every time we stopped and each land mark. We had amazing sunny weather all be it a bit cold, I’d def recommend this tour 100%
Fantastic informative tour. Jonathan was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Would highly recommend this tour.
It was such an interesting tour. Luckily we had a couples private tour with Steve, and he was one of a kind who makes the visit interesting. I highly recommend anyone visiting berlin to do this.
Thorough guide, kept it interesting, the dog was a plus too! Helped me contextualise my existing knowledge and experiences of Berlin.
We had such a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide in Steve, who was passionate and kept the whole experience alive. I learnt and saw so much and left with so much more understanding about the place we were staying. Yes there is a lot of walking but at a reasonable pace and the sights are so fascinating you don't really notice. Such a good price too!
I took this tour on my first day in Berlin and am so glad I did. The few hours are packed with interesting sights, and the tour covers many of the "must see" Berlin attractions. It really is time well spent. Tobi was our friendly and super-knowledgeable guide. He was full of facts and interesting stories about the various sights. He kept us going at a decent speed that did not at all feel rushed despite the amount of stuff we packed in. Glad we had time to stop off halfway for some ginger tea and donuts. Too many interesting sights on this tour to pick a favourite. In my opinion this is a "must do" tour.
Outstanding! It was my first time visiting Berlin and this was a wonderful, comprehensive tour of Berlin's most important landmarks with fascinating narration by our guide Tobi. Tobi was exceptional. Because he is German (and speaks perfect, eloquent English!) he provided invaluable historical, personal insights to our tour. It's a lot of walking, so wear good shoes & don't carry much with you! I'd like to add that I'm an older traveler & I did just fine! We kept a comfortable pace and we had a coffee break at a charming cafe at Checkpoint Charlie to rest half way. This is a not-to-miss tour, and Tobi brought our visit to life!
Danke!
Berlin is so packed with places to do/see that this tour is perfect for overview, perspective and history. Our guide, Tobi, was brilliant at giving us history, anecdotes and recommendations and making it FUN!
We were met by a very friendly lady on a cold and damp morning outside a the coffee shop. She encouraged us to keep warm and use the bathroom whilst we were waiting, which was although obvious, very good advice. Rob was our guide and he was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about all the subjects he spoke about, which makes such a difference on these tours. We were privileged to have a very small group. Rob dealt with a difficult member of our small group very patiently. Overall it was excellent value for money, we learnt so much.
Tobi war spitze! Informative und sympathische Führung durch Berlin. Auch bei Regen im Januar eine tolle Tour. Jetzt noch die Street-Art-Führung.
Can you just imagine a living story happening around you?Every building, monument, memorandum comes to life and you feel like you are traveling through time. From feelings of excitement, sadness, shock, laughter, this was a historical roller coaster for me. And believe me,I say it mildly. And you know what the biggest surprise is?To experience it all through the story of one man. It seems that the city can really come to life and history can be repeated, even through words. All Im just gonna say,his name is Xavier. Do not miss this for anything in world!
Rain sleet or snow this tour is happening! And thats a good thing! We took the tour on a cold windy Sunday but our guide Campbell made it an enjoyable experience. He was very knowledgeable and made the almost 4 hour tour a delight to be on. I would recommend this tour for any visitors to Berlin.
Awesome tour. Loved listening to Steve giving life to Berlin's history. I was a walking icecicle by the end. Highly recommend.
