My husband and I love to do food tours in different cities as a great way to acquaint ourselves with the local food and customs of a new place (some favorite past food tours have been in Paris, Seoul, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, and Hanoi) but we have been to Tokyo many times before and hadn't thought of doing a food tour because we are so familiar with Japanese food. However, we were intrigued by the idea of the Yanaka walking tour, which was a part of Tokyo we'd never seen before -- and so different than the bustling, new energy of Roppongi where we were staying. We absolutely enjoyed our tour of Yanaka and all of the food we tried. Atsumi was a lovely guide and she made communication very easy by reaching out on WhatsApp before the tour. Thank you Atsumi! Let us know when you are in Hawaii! :)Miyuki was a terrific host. We found her easily at the station and she guided us through the delicious nooks and corners of Yanaka (10 stops in all). Miyuki was a terrific host. We found her easily at the station and she guided us through the delicious nooks and corners of Yanaka (10 stops in all). Along the way we learned a lot about the area and Japan, and of course ate some really delicious and fresh local foods such as rice crackers, bean pancakes, meat croquettes, ramen, sashimi, beer, sake and more. The gyoza we had at the ramen lunch stop were some of the best I’ve ever had. And my daughter particularly loved the chocolate mochi treats. Miyuki was also very kind to find an alternative food (fried chicken) for my wife who doesn’t eat sashimi, and took great care to find vegetarian options for our 9 year old daughter. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone! We had an amazing food tour and so much fun. The food was amazing and our tour guide was interesting and so much fun. We had an amazing food tour and so much fun. The food was amazing and our tour guide was interesting and so much fun. I would highly recommend Oishi Food Tours for anyone visiting Japan and wanting to taste authentic and tasty Japanese food. They have several tours and we actually did this Yanaka tour which is in the old section of Tokyo and we also did the Tsukiji Market breakfast tour which is in the fish market area of Japan. Both tours were amazing! You should definitely try it when you visit Japan!Loved my day out with Yukino. We sampled many yummy and typically Japanese foods. The trip was recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint after her glowing recommendations. I was travelling solo, so it was a great way to interact with locals and other tourists.

Highly recommend Oishii Tours - our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable, as a group we had a fantastic time.
