Day Tour to Cairo from Hurghada By Bus

This is going to be a very touristy trip to Kairo, very cheap deal to get to the Pyramids/Sphinx.
Pick up was scheduled at 01:00 in the night, they came at half past. Since I was one of the first to be picked up, you go around Hurghada with a huge bus, takes more than 1 hour until everyone is inside. Then its about 6 hours drive with only one stop to Kairo. The bus is OK, old for European standards, for Egyptian pretty good shape, but still not very comfortable for such a long trip.
First station is the egyptian museum, where hundreds of people just swarm around. Entrance fee is included in the booking, there is no additional charge to see the gold treasury of Tutankhamun. You have around 2 hours which is enough if you want to get a brief overview over the egyptian history. Obviously you could spend more time there, but I thought it was OK. You have a guide who is supposed to tell you some things about the mummies and treasuries, our (german + english) however wasn't really motivated, rushed through some of the things and then sat down to drink coffee.
After that you take an "obligatory" Nile cruise. They charge 200 EGP (or 10€) which it's not worth. You have about 20 minutes driving up and down the Nile in an old/loud/smelling boat. You see some parts of Kairo/Gizeh, but not worth 200 EGP (I'd pay 100, which is the normal price, but they have a deal for higher price and share the profit...). If you chose not to take the cruise you'll sit in the bus for the whole time and do nothing.
After that you go to a "Papyrus-Manufacturer", where they show you in about 2 minutes how they do it and then try to sell you pictures for horrendous prices. But "Just for You" they give at least 50%, up to 75% discount. I'd recommend not to buy anything and wait outside...
After that you go to get Lunch. It's decent food, like the whole trip made for masses. Don't expect anything fancy, but it'll stop you from starving.
After that you finally get to the Pyramids. This is going to be the main reason for the trip, but also going to be quite exhausting to get rid of all the sales people. Again for 200 EGP (or 10€) you can book a 30 minute horse carriage/camelidae ride. I'd recommend not to do it. First again its cheaper to book it outside (100-150 EGP) and they try to rip you off for charging to take fotos, etc. You can easily walk around it.
In the end its another 7,5 hours drive back, which makes you come back to the hotel at 12:00 or later.
No need to do it again...

This was a very good, if long tour necessitating a 3am start. The journey travels along the Red Sea Coast and if you are lucky you see a red sunrise over the Red Sea. Much of the journey is across desert and you are looking at 5-6 in the bus. The bus was fine. Cairo is not my idea of a nice place but everyone to their own. The tour included a trip to the Egyptian Museum which is enjoyable for those who like looking at mummies and artefacts. Then we were taken to a place where they make papyrus and papyrus illustrations. I founfd this boring but I know others in the tour enjoyed it very much. We were then taken to a restaurant which was very nice. From there it was the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx, by far the highlight of the tour. Finally we were taken to a place where they make potions which are supposed to be good for the skin. This was insufferably boring but again others disagreed with me. The tour was professionally managed and our guide was excellent. I would recommend this tour for those who have stamina and don't mind a 17 hour day.

This Tour was operated by Zoser Travel!In Viator and their website Description of Tour says Pyramid - Sphinx - Lunch - Museum -City Bazaar.But They did Museum first and sell us a Nile Cruise which took the Tour a lot of time until we run out of Time in Pyramid Never even got Literally Time for Sphinx. And instead of City Bazaar we end up in Perfume Shop! Toilet inside the Bus totally Broken! Stay away from Zoser Travel ask first Viator which Travel Agency they`re going to give you!!!
