This area though open to public is practically unexplored even by the local citizens. It has its unique natural beauty being next to the town but yet an atmosphere of a Nature holiday.
After travelling through hamlets you will love the winding roads with fish ponds and green trails. The views and atmosphere will be a nature lovers paradise.
You will also be practically explained why Kolkata is one of the most economic cities due to the wetlands.
The ride will last 3 hours depending on your speed and we will have a hot cup of local tea in the wetlands.
This is a part of Kolkata which even the locals are not aware as it cannot be navigated on Vehicles. You will get this unique opportunity to explore the cycling trails.

What to expect
This is one of the entry points to the wetlands. Depending on your skill and stamina we will choose a paved road or a trail to enter the wetlands. After this it will be nature and biodiversity and village hamlets.

As a lone female traveler I felt very safe and comfortable throughout the tour. We were looking for something different on our last day in Kolkata after having had our senses assaulted by the busy and chaotic t Human and vehicle traffic that characterises Kolkata Shirish offered us just that chance for an escape into a serene world of lakes, tiny fishing communities right in the heart of Kolkata. All bikes, helmets and gear was provided along with a friendly and informative 3 hour mountain bike tour around a small fraction of the 90 odd Kms of trails thru the lakes that make up the wetlands. There is a bit of street traffic to negotiate before entering the wetlands but a combination of early 6am start and Shirish expertly guiding us made that part entirely comfortable Highly recommend this tour as it’s worth every centAn amazing experience, set off time is early so you miss the extreme heat of the afternoon.
