Explore the past and present culture of the Haines region at the Sheldon Museum with more than 4, 000 local artifacts.

Stop At: Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, Miles 8 Thru 31 Haines Highway, Haines, AK

Drive through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve en route to the Chilkat Pass.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Jilkaat Kwaan Heritage Center, 09 Chilkat Ave. Klukwan Alaska HC 60 2204, Haines, AK 99827

Private guided tour with a local living in Klukwan (population <100), who will share their Tlingit culture along with insight into the modern and historical exhibits at the Jilkaat Kwaan Heritage Center.

Stop At: Pleasant Camp Border Crossing, Stikine Region, BC V0W 1A0, Canada

After re-entry into the US, a short stop will be made at the more than 100 year-old Dalton Cache trading post. This historic post was built by Jack Dalton in the 1890s to trade goods and supplies to the gold seekers heading up to the Yukon. Today, the post rests just a matter of feet from US / Canada boarder line and you can actually stand with one foot in either country!

Stop At: Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park, Yukon and Glacier Bay, British Columbia Canada

Ascend above the tree line into the alpine tundra of the Chilkat Pass. Stop to take pictures and see the splitting of the waters flowing toward the Yukon and Alaska.
